It was hard to pick between Parade and SOTT, but I gave it to Parade for the song "Sometimes It Snows In April", which is my favorite Prince song.

interesting, but Purple rain doesnt have a single weak song to me so it should atleast be a 9. Dirty Mind and Controversy deserve higher scores but to each their own. Interesting opinion and ratings.

On Purple Rain, I don't really like Let's Go Crazy that much. It's a great opener, but I still don't really like it, and I figure when there's only 9 songs on an album, there's no room for even a single weak spot. I also don't think the album has aged well.. it sounds very, very 80s.

Controversy would easily be a 10, except I really dislike "Annie Christian" and "Ronnie Talk To Russia". And again, the album's too short for weak spots. I love all the other songs a lot, though.

Dirty Mind is far too short, and pretty weak lyrically (even by Prince's standards). He tries too hard to be shocking rather than write a good song ("Sister", "Head"). Musically, it a 10, though.

Had Prince included the B-Sides to his singles on his albums, I'd probably rate most of his albums higher. Purple Rain, for example, would've been much stronger with "Erotic City" and "17 Days"...
