The Remix Experience by DJ Brother Jules Vol I I just got my hands on this and I'm loving it!! Anyone else have this or know anything about it? Like, is there a Volume II?

This was "released as a cd-r only promo thing.
Another version of the cd had a couple of extra remixes (from Rave In2 album?)
The remix experience was announced on Prince's official site, but people wanting to purchase the disc had to do so from DJ Brother Jules' Music Emporium store.
There were rumours that the extra tracks on the cd were not endorsed by Prince, so the promotion of the cd was withdrawn from Prince's site.

There is no Vol 2 (can someone confirm this?).

Underneath The Cream. Damn! I didn't get any bonus tracks. Only the original 31:41 mix. (not that I'm complaining).

The "Hot Wit U" and "Man O War" remixes can be found on Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic (the remix cd) and Underneath The Cream is on The Chocolate Invasion album. I don't think that they were part of the mix, they were just tacked on the end of the cd.

I'm curious how this works. Does "Brother Jules" purchase the right to use these songs and then make a mix of them? Did Prince have input into this? If it was "announced on Prince's web site" then it must be legitimate, and not a bootleg?
This is an AWESOME mix. But then, I'm partial to this sort of thing.

It is likely that Prince commissioned this mix from Jules.
I don't think Prince had any input, apart from maybe choosing tracks.
I really don't know, information on the how and why of this mix seems to be quite scarce.
Someone will know.

Brother Jules was working for Prince at the time, as one of his official DJ's. Having said that he used vinyl records (not master tapes) to do the mix as I understand it. There are the 3 versions as mentioned above. The 3rd one came without a sleeve, but was sealed originally in cellophane. The first 2 have artwork. I liked it too Its not purely Prince there is some Queen and other stuff in there which is cool (in an old skool way). May U Live 2 See The Dawn
