I think Prince is the healthiest superstar we've had in quite some time. I'm afraid that we don't properly appreciate the tricky balance he maintains between developing his art and relating to his fans. Nothing thrilled me more than to hear him not only dust off D.S.M.R. during the Musicology tour but play it with the enthusiasm and gusto like he just wrote it a week ago, then follow it with Dear Mr. Man, which at the time nobody had heard, with equal passion. | |
