What shows do you recall were Prince had some sort of malfuntion?

I can recall a few.

At an early or mid 90's Glam Slam concert (just before or after Money Don't Matter 2Night) Prince cane out with his pants unzipped. He kind of did a Dave Chapelle....and had the look oh well and continued to tuck in his shirt and zip up his pants in front of everyone. Perhaps only those of us in the front row standing seen him.

Another time during Bunkers in 1995 Prince was using Billy Franze guitar strap and it broke. You can see Prince mouth Billy Franze, "the guitar strap broke." The guitar must ahve been to heavy for Prince as he remained seated as the strap was fixed.

Or when Mayte stage dived into the audience (in France?) and everyone moved out of the way. Ouch!

All cool moments and nothing to dis Prince. I think he has handled all malfunctions with great ease and class.

May not count as a mishap, but in the vid w/james Brown & MJ; the guitar player gives Prince his guitar and a used pick and Prince throws it down and asks for a new one. Go figure:lol:

he fell over while singing scandalous, i think during the act 1 shows (he had that huge typhoon hair)

he did a saucy strip, back to audience then did a fancy move 2wards the mic. the poor luv slipped & went down, it was quite undignified

he recovered well tho & within seconds was crawling across the stage & humping the mic. no damage done!

Prince is human!

Did Mayte get hurt? Did anybody sorta grab because if it was straight to the floor that could hurt like tremendously!

I remember that. I think he did that on the '85 Live video in Syracuse during the same moment, too.

On another note, i read somewhere (i think it was one of the biographies) that during one of his European shows when he was not only playing, but apparently also engineering the show, that he came from backstage on a conveyor belt, playing his guitar, and after rolling halfway to the front of the stage, he realized he forgot to turn his guitar up, so he had to roll backwards, go behind the curtain, turn up his guitar, and then roll back out while playing.

MTV Music Video Awards during the Gett Off performance in the assless pants - he strutted up to the mic and grabbed it to start the first verse, and the yellow lace got caught on the mic, and it nearly fell over as he went to move his hand off it, hitting his chest, if I remember right.

New Years eve 1987 Paisley Park seemed to have sound issues. Also he pulled stage line dow from somewhere. Raw performance!

Yes, that is really the most memorable malfunction but he recovered well and just kept on rolling!

I am actually surprised he doesnt have more in all of his years performing live.

Remember the performance where it appered he fell down the stage but he didnt really and it was someone else dressed up like him? It was a live awards show if I remember correctly sometime during the late 90's...

wembley arena, think it was nude tour, guitar failed during purple rain so he just jammed it on piano. also during dortmund 88 his guitar fails for the outro of anna stesia so he has a little word with miko n levi and they do a syncopated dance instead. fits so well lots of folk seem not to have noticed. meadowbank act II mayte fell off the swing as she made her entrance. rotterdam 90 during nothing compares a canopy above the piano collapsed under the weight of rainwater and soaked prince. you can hear it on the bootleg copy i have.

Yeah, I remember this. He tried to act like he was adjusting or screwing something on the mic, but it was clearly a fuck-up on his part.
