No, he became a tax protestor. Hippies ain't as sharp as him. The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

Nice.
This album deserves as big a shout as the recent noise about the Parade anniversary.

Exactly. And in the second track, Prince declared his independence from rules, addresses, and property taxes.
I've always wanted to walk into Paisley Park and ask to be taken into the vault for a listening session. I'm sure I would then be informed which rules that would violate. I've found confirmation that Around the World in a Day was first released on CD in 1985, the same year as the vinyl record. Billboard (which can be searched on Google Books) ran a couple of stories about the initial release, which used so-called "all-board" packaging rather than a jewel box. The packaging, an innovation at the time, was not favorably received.
I'm still not sure whether ATWIAD was the first Prince album issued on CD the same year as the vinyl.
Update: I figured out now that Purple Rain was the first Prince album to be issued on CD the same year as the vinyl (1984). [Edited 4/22/11 18:12pm] The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

good grief...remember it like it was yesterday. Calling Sam Goodies over and over, "did you get, did you get??" and then cut school rush to the shopping center. Study the album cover in the car and wondering what the hell these songs sounded like.
Loved side one but then the last two songs on side two were a let down but still it was A NEW PRINCE ALBUM! which was like a national holiday for my and my friends.
ahhh Good Times.
