did anyone else notice there's a chord sequence in the
guitar solo of "She Gaver He Angels" that sounds very
much like the "Purple Rain" solo???

It's most obvious at


05:10 - in Purple Rain and;

03:14 - in She Gave Her Angels


It's mainly the guitar line, but where the PR sequence is
completely played on the guitar, the last few tones on
She Gave Her Angels are burried somewhat in the drum and
bassline.

First I thought I was just imagining it since it's the
same guitar 'sound' as the whole Purple Rain album,
but now I think it really is kinda like PR part II.

Shame the song got left off "Emancipation" cause it is
a whole lot better than some of those weak covers he
chose to put on it. Perhaps it has something to do with
the fact that there already are two appendix guitar
solos on the album [In This Bed I Scream/The Holy River]?

Anyway, I like the song. It's a bit cheesy, but just so
much that it makes you wonder wether it's a dud or an
absolute gem.

Interesting... I haven't noticed that, I'll have to pay attention next time around. I've always liked the vocal, but thought overall the song was a little cheesy. But just within the last week I was listening to CB, and hit repeat when SGHA ended. Now I'd lean more toward gem than dud.

As for the Truth... arrrgh! I'm thinking it must inside the CD player in a storage unit in California, because i can't find the damn thing since I moved. So Blue am I...

i have nothing against "she gave her angels" but i think that all of the covers on "emancipation" are much stronger songs...

however, he could have gotten rid of "style," "emale", or even "my computer"...

okay, so I actually have CBIII with me here at work -- just gave it a listen. Definite parallels. Has that same anthemic quality, can easily sway ur arm 2 the beat. Good call.
