I just love this song so much, those creamy falsetto vocals, the, melody, the lyrics, the way he bares his soul and proves he could out Otis, Otis and make Al Green stand to attention. This song is a classic and my favourite Prince song, in fact its my favourite song by anyone. I just wish he had made more songs like it. I am listening 2 it now.

Who else loves this song (And yes I have had some wine 2nite).

i've been listening to it everyday for the past few weeks, amazing, "if god one day struck me blind, your beauty i still see".

Wonderful ballad, perfect vocal delivery, great lyrics.

Just a by-the-numbers soul ballad. Noth comparable to Prince's compositions at the time.

i can never understand the love 4 this song, although i agree the words are nice. i've seen people go crazy 4 it, crying, wailing, hugging.. getting engaged!

it doesn't move me at all, it makes me feel all kinda frigid & irritable, when he sings live i look 4ward to the end.. i'm like gawd, hurry up & get on with it.. am i a freak?

oh come on guys, show some appreciation I am glad majority of fans seem to like it.

Sorry but if you don't feel this song in particular then you don't love ballads or soul music because this is a soul song thru and thru. If you hear this song and it doesn't make you want or yearn for your lover then either you have never been in love or yo stuff ain't working no more. Lol

I've never said I don't like Rn'B side of Prince. And yes, you were talking to me because I don't like Adore Why do you think I'm a youngster? I might be older than you.

Anything is possible. And no I wasn't talking to you because I hadn't read what you had already posted I just saw the subject and posted. I read on here all the time when this song is brought up that people don't feel it which like I said I don't understand. What is it about this particular song that you can't get? This is one of the greatest classics of all of the classics in my groove zone. By the way how old are you? Lol

Ok, sorry for misunderstanding I just think it's not as great as people say. I really can't hear the brilliance everyone is talking about. It sounds boring to my ears, especially the album version. And I'm a big fan of soul and Rn'B music. Well, I just checked your profile and you're older than me - but not much

One of my dearest friends is getting married next year and his bride to be has requested that I sing this song at their wedding. I strangely said that I would and now I am worried about doing it live and what arrangement??? Still can't believe that I said yes. Lol. But I will give it the old college try. Since he is the only one who has heard me sing before I was shocked that she would request me sing it. What have I gotten myself in for??? Wish there was a karaoake version of this song!!!

I love his falsetto in this song.

And the lyrics are spot on for a love song. When you are in love - this is what you want to hear!

I don't like nor dislike this song.

The flower of SOTT that never quite made full bloom.

But a pretty little ditty none the less.

I've only listened to it a few times and it's because he's been doing it in recent concerts but it's still not on my ipod. It's nice yes; maybe it's coz I didn't buy SOTT back then, and live that period with Prince. I got it only in 2009. But I have so many favourite ballads of Prince, it's hard to fit Adore in there....I need to listen more to judge it honestly.

It is a classic, imo. When he sings it live, my knees still get weak.

Only if you are truely in love and have played this song while loving, then you have to give it all the apprieciation it deserves. One of my favorites and a regular request by my husband who hasn't fully embrased the Man and his music.
