Nice break down ... The first think that comes to mind with 'P's funkiest moments' would be any of the funk numbers he's written for The Time. C.O.O.L., Jungle Love and The Bird never seems to get old to me ...
Peace ... & Stay Funky ...

The Rebirth of the Flesh is damn funky, love it! I also love Feel U Up...so damn funky, the 1981 demo version is also pretty funky.

I second Rockhard in a Funky Place. That song is funky by definition. The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

George who? Jefferson? Because I KNOW you can't be talking about George Clinton! You're insane if you think TBA is funkier than anything Clinton has done. Insane and sheltered!

Some people might not want the uncut funk, because it's too freaky and habit-forming. [Edited 4/22/11 14:29pm] The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

Ya know? They need to man up and take the whole dose, cuz then they'd know what's up!

At least the Black Album is sort of chocolate-coated, so it's about 33% funk. The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

ditto. that's why i never eat before listening to it! if you can't appreciate the groove of prince's drumming then you should chop your ears off and throw them in the bin. THEY DON'T WORK!! don't play me...i'm over 30 and i DO smoke weed....

I think Facedown is one of his funkiest songs. Not what's on Emancipation, that's too squeaky clean, but the live version he released on a cassette single with Musicology, when he's going back and forth with Rhonda on bass. So funky it smells like old cheese and socks

THe title should be "Prince's funkiest moment" or "Prince's most funky moment".
With that said, I think the performance of Face Down on the Chris Rock Show is up there as one of the funkiest - as I see no parameters for live or recorded moments. Also 1+1+1 is 3 live at te Kodak Theater in LA on the One Nite Alone tour (I was front and center). Any performance or recording of:
Housequake Come On Ol Skool Company Lets Work Controversy Lady Cab Driver DMSR Erotic City Irresistable Bitch 1+1+1 is 3 Sexy Dancer Head Sign O The Times When Doves Cry (just because it is the greatest funk song ever written and doesn't even have the primary funk instrument - bass)

Rockhard In A Funky Place 2 Nigs ...the whole Black Album!
it was the last great prince album. Everything after it has been compromised. That's just the way it is.
