The Sensual Everafter Appreciation Thread

Okay, I know many of you hate The Rainbow Children..so what? But how many of you like this little gem? The first time I've heard it I thought to myself "wow..that's really great..oh WOW, that climax rocks!".

What are your thoughts?

I love it. One of my favorite tracks on the album. I really enjoy that nowadays Prince's instrumental approach is way more Jimi-inspired than before.

Cool! It's nice to see that I'm not the only one. I remember I used to listen to it on repeat because it was wonderful. The intro is a little bit "sad" or mysterious, but the climax screams pure joy.

I'm not a fan of The Rainbow Children, in general - but I do love this song. My only complaint is that it's too short. How a song that's under three minutes in length can be billed as "Everafter" escapes me, frankly.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

yeahthat

I would have loved for it to have the "proper" treatment ala "God" or "Alexa"... Surely there's a longer version in the vault we will never, ever hear. sigh

I've always thought that, "She Loves Me 4 Me" and "Last December" were the best songs on that disc.

"I don't think you'd do well in captivity." - random person's comment to me the other day

Yeah, I rediscovered it too. Really like it.

Can't listen to Gold or Diamand and Pearls at the moment.

Keep listening to Rainbow, Emancipation, Crystall ball and LotusFlower lately.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

Me too! Rainbow Children, Emancipation and LotusFlower is what I'm listening to now. I'm also rediscovering Emancipation and love love love it. I'm on a real Prince kick right now and can't seem to listen to anything else.
