UTCM Title track Ur opinions of the song? I kinda like it, but it has taken years to grow on me When I first heard it I was like WTF cuz it kept giving me flashbacks of Prince dying in the movie The song is slow and kinda mellow-I think I like it now

It's a classic. I remember buying the album when I was 16!

It's a likable song, very unlike Prince at the time.

Good song. It's enjoyable to listen to. First concert: January 18, 2011 & then February 7, 2011 at MSG. Best concerts of my life.

I keep mixing this one up with The Question of U, but it's a great song. You mean you're gonna actually hear what we play tonight? You're not gonna make up the notes in your mind?

Love it. I actually love to watch UTCM as well. It's got a relaxed, peaceful kinda vibe to it. A lot of atmospheric sounds like the ocean or quiet tracks like "Under the Cherry Moon" to move it along.
I've always thought UTCM really needed to be performed live more often. It's the protoype to songs like "Somewhere Here On Earth" and most of the One Night Alone album.

Co-sign. I really like that movie, especially the atmosphere and its breezy, lighthearted vibe. It´s the perfect kind of escapism, IMO, and I am not ashamed to admit that I really, really like that movie. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

A classic. Prince 4Ever.

completely agree. I love the Piano in it. Even tho the Parade album as a whole seemed different at the time you can over time hear a Prince vibe-this actualy remains the oddity-and I loved it from the off-I was actually excited the first time I heard this

love it. that little piano skip with the "...and that's alright" part is amongst my most favorit prince moments ever.
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

LOVE this, it has me all of a spellbound... i wanna sway, laugh & sing it out of tunee like i had a few bevvies... then omg! in the film where he chases & rugby tackles her to the ground..he looks like liberace, bejazzled & glorious!. she gives him the green light, looks at him like 'ok gorgeous it's on!' he mounts mary, ready 4 action all bold & shimmering with sex . all the time UTCM is swirling like orgasmic fog. well he's so smooth & dominant, the delicate way he carresses his body, hovers over his magic love sausage, he has a quick feel.. then sweeps in 4 la smooch

Whole body of work from that period matches up well with any of his very best work in my opinion. The movie? i've thought about it recently, just didn't have the timing anymore, he was 84's happening, not 86's purple rain wasn't much better, but we discovered the magic and charisma of Prince and got to see into the mystery.

Maybe campy but god I love it.

It's the weakest track on "Parade" for me. It's really more of a pastiche than a proper Prince ballad to my ears. Nothing wrong with that of course, but I wouldn't really play it to anyone as a "proof" of how great Prince or the "Parade" album really is. It works the best in the context of the rest of the album.

lately I've taken to loving the drum sound, that linn-drum sort of "pommp"

It's so so.
I like his voice on the track but the melody is a tad....something. I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!

I love that song. A strange jazzy ballad (is it in a waltz time signature?) in the middle of the funky weirdness of side one of Parade, I love putting that song in a mixtape to showcase Prince's versatility and daring. Love it.

The melodramatic lyrics, the sort of faux-posh pronunciation of certain words, the smoky cabaret atmosphere -- the song was pitch perfect for this particular album/film project. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου
