The Dance Electric Anyone else want to see this released & played live? The teaser from the NPGMC put my craving into overdrive. Its got that hyptnotic groove lacking in his recent output. |

A release of the original version, yes. Played live with his current band? NO!! It would be turned into a ten minute sludge fest with Shebly shouting "clap yer hands, stomp yer feet" all over it.

The live version "released" thru the NPGMC is the full version. THe song segued into another song after that during that tour. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I think this song was played 1 or 2wice during the Parade tour (?)

There's André's version + 2 single edits of it & the video version which is yet another edit, all r the same than Prince's minus his vocals and the 2nd half of the song.
& there's Prince's live version from 1986 that was released thru NPGMC.
Prince's long version is circulating but it's un4tunately only available with a disastrous sound quality. I'd love him 2 release it with proper sound quality. But in the meantime, a cleaner version might appear online sooner or later (Box of Chocolate was only the beginning, it seems...).
I'll never understand why André didn't release the long version on the maxi-single, that was such a silly decision

It's already been released.
To be honest, while the song is very good it doesn't stay interesting for the entire duration of it.
