The song "101" I just love this haunting song! Does anyone know if there is a circulating demo? It has always been one of my favorites. The remix was pretty killer too! He doesn't write them like this anymore. Sheena did a great job with her vocal. If it breaks when it bends, U better not put it in!

That song should have gone to Annie Lennox!! She would have sent that into orbit!

Was it ever intended for her? Or is that just a wish?

Ear clatter. Pure torture. Doesn't sound anything like Prince. All you others say Hell Yea!!

You don't know what you're talking about.
You should hear the "Uptown" version. Prince plays some AMAZING guitar on that Version!!

'101' and 'Ooh This I Need' are two of the most smoldering tracks Prince ever wrote. I also think they are the 2 tracks I'd flip out most over if his versions ever surfaced.
When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

I like it. Especially the remix. For some reason, Mayte´s song "Ain´t No Place Like U" reminds me of 101 even though they aren´t similar. But the overall vibe of both songs is a bit cold and synthetic, for lack of better words. I like both songs. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Good question! I wonder what was the last hit song he wrote for someone else? If it breaks when it bends, U better not put it in!

Annie would be amazing covering Time Waits For No One. I wonder if she would consider singing Prince? "So fierce U look 2night, the brightest star pales 2 Ur sex..."

I love this song and I think she knocks it out of the park. Her vocals are perfect for it. The demo is not circulating but he did record a version with his vocals on it. This song is one of the reasons I wish he'd release an album of song demos like Jules Shear did with "Demo-Itis". Maybe that is something that WB could do for a new Prince album.
The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

Does Sheila E count as a protege? He just wrote "Leader of the Band" for her. He likely wrote most of "Paradigm" with George Clinton (fanfuckingtastic song if you haven't heard it, imo). He redid No Doubt's "Waiting Room"... Don't think he wrote the words but I know he rewrote the music and what you hear on the record is Gwen singing over Prince's music without input from the band.

Check the Uptown version of this song. Totally rocks. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

That's what happens when one is more worried about pics of a musician than about his music.

I was just listening to some the mixes on YouTube. As some had said it would be cool if she come out with some new mixes. Even though the song is old it might be a dance hit all over again.
