what a track, and the opening guitar work on it, the atmoshphere and the lyrics. Anyone else dig it?

Yeah, I had that on a playlist in the car a few weeks ago.

Cool track

Havent heard the song but I like the lyrics.

Yet another track I'm not too fond of.

Yes the guitar playing is nice, but the song is messy. The bridge doesn't fit with the rest of the song.

This is one of my favorite Prince songs. I really wish he would revisit it.

I don't know how many of the "For You" tracks hold up still, but this one still does. Especially live. I get the impression its a young Prince's attempt at showing the world he's not just a disco/r&b/soul artist.

The intro is cool the bass and drums are great. The riff is also amazing. I know he was singing strictly falsetto at the time, but I think he could've gone deeper for some of the verses. Of course, Prince didn't ask me. I was 4 when he recorded it.

Overall, the track still has some classic guitar work, and should be up there with his other guitar classics.

Great song really showcasing his talents.

Looking forward to the remastered version when they get released!

I absolutely love I'm Yours, and the debut album, all of it is great IMO.

Unbelievable song, arrangement, musicianship, vocals, etc. The fact that he was so young when he did it is just mind blowing to me. This is definitely one of those tracks that I wish prince would re-record today with all of the modern recording technology. The catch would be that he has to do it as he did originally...ALL PRINCE!

i have heard just I'm Yours a 3 weeks ago. But it's my fav track on For You.

The lyrics are a bit lightweight, but this is a stronger track off the album, his work on the guitars is pretty amazing though, and its easy to see he was into more rocked out music with this, its very much a precursor to Bambi (Especially the riffing) and a lesser extent Why you wanna treat me so bad. Along with Soft and Wet, In Love and My Love is Forever its the stronger tracks off For You.

It's high on my want-list since hearing that version, damn it rocks.

Oh my, just listened, totally love it. Had no idea it was on For You--note to self: pay attention to song titles--it sounds like a period piece (a good thing) and the guitar work really showcases Prince's skills. I bet hearing it live is off da chain.

stone cold classic, a very young Mr. P totally rocking it out. Does anyone know when he last played this live?.

Definitely some interesting guitar and drum work in there though I don't like all parts.

But the music seems to drown out the vocals to me.
