Are there non-Prince songs that sound as if Prince could have written them? Ever heard a song & thought 'that sounds really like a Prince tune'? God knows why, but I could easily hear his voice singing Cold November Rain & that song You've got the Music in You, think it was New Radicals. I just think they sound kinda Prince like. Has anyone else had this experience with a song that's not Prince's? | |

That's because it's a straight-up jack of "Nasty Girl".
Anyway, there's a few jams on Charlie Singleton's three solo albums he did in the 80's (Modern Man, Nothing Ventured Nothing Gained and Man On A Mission) that are very Princely. "Earth To Micki" sounds a lot like Lady Cab Driver and and "I Wanna Be With You" sounds like something Prince would have done.
I wouldn't say Charlie was swaggerjacking cos he had his own sound, but I definitely feel he was inspired by what P was doing. |

A couple of Jack Johnson songs, though I don't know there name, sounded like they came staight off 1999.
I used to hear Prince in all of Lenny Kravitz music. Especially Let Love Rule.
