That is when he was abducted by the aliens, who tried cloning him but couldn't get it right. So they sent the clone back to earth and kept the original for themselves.

i do not think so. I saw some footage from 1999 and purple rain shows and yeah the hair is diffrent and he is using some make up and facial hair for some effects...but it looks just like him.

It was the damn make-up that made him look different, esp the eyeliner and the way it was applied, I really couldn't stand that look

I do, he looks a lot more white skinned there, for real, either he was wearing a whole of concealer or they replaced him with some white dude for a while. The real African American Prince may have left Warners in 1993, and they replaced him with the white lookalike, and released music by the real Prince TGE, Come etc, and then when Prince was free, he came back with the Oprah inetrview and wow he looks brown again.

Did anyone else get suspicious, eg that Mask he wore as Toratora may have been to cover up the fake, and thats why Mayte answered the questions for him, as this fake Prince sounded different to the real Prince, who was off recording Get Wild, and the Exodus with the NPG. Just a theory what do you all think. I think the fake Prince may have been paid by Prince to do his Warners Promotion.
