Prince Sheet Music

I went to find an EZ chords book of Prince songs and there were none. There was not even a Prince song in any of the compilation books (80's Rock...etc...) Is this another area where he has cut us off?

I have piano/guitar/voice books for Purple Rain, Around the World in a Day, Parade, Sign o' the Times, (had Lovesexy, but somebody took it mad), and Batman.

Not sure what an EZ chord book is, but there're sheets to be had! smile

Yeah, I guess I should look at more than one music store...LOL...

EZ chord books have songs in like 6 chords or less for beginner guitar players. I did get music for Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd! I was stoked about that...

I wouldn't recommend buying it from this price-gouger, but I did find this.

It wouldn't be six chords or less, but such a book wouldn't last you very long, anyway. wink

DO you play piano and guitar? What are your favorite Prince songs to play?

Prince songbooks don’t seem to get additional print runs after the initial release. You’ll have to stick with internet tabs for most stuff.

Off the top of my head, Starfish and Coffee sounds lovely on an acoustic guitar, as does I could never take the place of your man (both contain some barre chords, though). And you can't go wrong with Purple Rain (best played in A, as opposed to Bb, like the original). Man, I wish I still had my Lovesexy book...

[EDIT: I forgot you asked about piano, too. Pop Life and Scandalous both have really gorgeous chords, love those. Other ones you'd think would be good, like Sometimes It Snows in April, actually aren't that great as written, since they're mostly jam-based anyway.]

Are there any songs you're interested in?
