Glad to see that Prince still has the drawing power to sell out large arenas. One of the few modern day legends of the music/entertainment business still going strong WITHOUT a major label backing him. __________________________________________________

Glad to hear it | |

he probably woulda been top if he did as many shows as Gaga!
he only sold out 4 shows where Gaga did a lot more
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Exactly! This is amazing with no singles or albums in the top ten & no regular airplay of his latest masterpieces. That he can still go on the road and sale this many tickets & still b the talk of the town after over 30 ageless years in the industry is unheard of...Congratulations Princey!
PRINCE
will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.

Of course his concerts are sold out. He's Prince.

Let's not get too carried away, shall we?
42,475 divided by the 3 nights.... still averages to 14,158 per night.
There is not a damn thing wrong with my memory and I happen to remember a time when Prince could sell out 50,000+ seats in a stadium per night. HELLO! I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
and lets not forget you didnt used to gave to wear that greasy weave you do
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I beg your pardon...ain't a damn thing greasy about my weave, Boo! I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

^silly. | |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
You think it's silly that Prince could sell out 50,000+ seats in a stadium per night. Really? I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
No, I was referring to the point you're trying to make is silly.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
The point I was trying to make is there was in fact a time when Prince could sell out 50,000+ seats in a stadium per night. If you find that to be silly...oh well. I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

I'm just mad that there's an actual arena called "KFC Yum!" What the hell??
| |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Oaktown YES!!! He sold out here with lesser days notice to purchase tickets....come on pretty baby---bring it back---we'll treat ya right like we always do---love4oneanother---peace!
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
When he sold out those stadiums, he had big albums and/or big hits...big difference. He hasn't had a hit in years.
Besides, Gaga is huge at the moment, and her average per night is almost the same as Prince.

Her weave is on too tight because she isnt considering he was backed by a large(est) record company, was in his prime (25 years ago), and...wait for it.....the cncerts were announced months in advance, not like today where he is doing them with a mere 2 weeks at most notice...convienent how she doesn't write that eh? I balme her nongreasy(her claim) weave being too tight.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
You must be the one with the greasy weave because you seem a bit obsessed with 'em. Kindly quit projecting your hair insecurities unto me. I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Um. She did 2 more than he did....

Its just that there are a number of major factors you're not considering.

Actually....the shows I and this entire thread are talking about...were in OAKLAND, CA. Nice try though. I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Yes, I noticed which is why I erased my original post. However, the statistics related to the overall economy covered the entire U.S. and were not specific to the Carolinas.
If you cared to read....the same holds true for California.
The current unemployment rate in California is 12.2%. In 2001 it was 4.7%. Fron 06 to 09 there was a 3% decrease in California's median income too. California's economy in the mid 90's ranked 5th in the world, now we are 9th.
So while you're pointing out the type-o I made, the facts remain the same which is why your post was silly.
(thanks for lettinmebemycelfagain). Just have to admit this is funny

What typo? You were talking about entirely different subject matter than what was being discussed. You made a mistake, it happens. At least be mature enough to own it and not try to pretend that it's my fault for noticing. Especially considering, if you hadn't been so busy replying to me and tryin to make excuses for Prince, instead of reading the topic, there'd have been nothing for me to notice. I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
you're so funny. No, read again, the first part of my post concerns the entire u.s. economy. the last portion was geographically specific to the Carolinas.
I admitted my error. You posted as I attempted to correct my mistake and you know that.
Nevertheless, I provided you with additional support to respond as to why your original post was clueless. That is why you're trying to focus the debate on my error rather than your post.
The economy is what it is from sea to shining sea and has been, wake up.
You were trying to imply Prince's numbers were unusualy low; I and other posters presented information to the contrary.
Instead of spending your time trying to hate on EVERYTHING Prince does, perhaps you should give your daily twisted opinion a rest. Sorry.
