So each show grosses around $1million plus. Interesting.

Prince ranks second among this week's Hot Tours with box office totals reported from his three-show run in February at Oakland's Oracle Arena. The concerts on Feb. 21, 23 & 24, part of the singer's Welcome 2 America Tour that kicked off last December, were sellouts drawing a total of 42,475 fans for all three nights.

Glad to see that Prince still has the drawing power to sell out large arenas. One of the few modern day legends of the music/entertainment business still going strong WITHOUT a major label backing him.

Exactly! This is amazing with no singles or albums in the top ten & no regular airplay of his latest masterpieces. That he can still go on the road and sale this many tickets & still b the talk of the town after over 30 ageless years in the industry is unheard of...Congratulations Princey!

When he sold out those stadiums, he had big albums and/or big hits...big difference. He hasn't had a hit in years.

Besides, Gaga is huge at the moment, and her average per night is almost the same as Prince.

Perhaps Prince didn't sell 50K tickets per night, but his daily and overall attendance numbers are impressive in comparison to other artists even with mitigating circumstances.

you're so funny. No, read again, the first part of my post concerns the entire u.s. economy. the last portion was geographically specific to the Carolinas.
