To be honest, I think the singing is a bit too good to be true for the lovely App...I also had a sneaking suspicion it was Lisa.

Lisa Coleman did say Prince had her come in after Apollonia was done and sing underneath the vocals

I did read up on that as well. Prince had a hard time with Apples, so they rehearsed a lot I believe at his home. SO he called in the big dogs to help out the poor girl on the track. I personally love it though, and can barely recognize anyone else besides her and Prince

Actually Lisa has a very strong voice, it you listen to her on Head 1999 Little Red Corvette and many other songs her vocals are on, you'll hear her voice over Apollonia
