just wondering if anyone has seen the unofficial dvds to welcome 2 america from the gardens...what do you think of them...?

quality wise...pretty damn good...amazing what you can get with all the new hi tech cameras now...

show wise...for a hardcore fan....its a bit ' here we go again ' ....he always puts on a good show but its definately aimed at the casual fans...almost all 80s stuff...i think i enjoyed watching some of the 20ten european concerts more...bit more varied...

but..yes...nice addition...need another 'one nite alone ' style tour to get me excited...intimate venues...and playing fewer hits and more of his amazing back catalogue...

haven't seen it, I agree please go back to the small venue.

the picture quality is surprisingly good for what it is and how far back it's been shot. good closeups. some of the best examples of single cam filming i've seen

i did prefer the "youtube" shows from europe though, made up from 100s of short clips, but many in excellent quality.. some weren't so good quality, but the multi angles and good closeups made up easily for the poorer quality, and the sound quality was great on those too

i haven't watched the dvds yet, just skipped through without sound, i hear the sound quality isn't great. hopefully they can be synched with a better source

There needs to be an official dvd with decent cameras/proper editing and the full concert.

I think all 4 are great. The 2 from the Izod and the 2 from the Garden that he played in December. I can`t wait to see the the January and February shows as I will get those next week. With the two camera mix and close ups, these guys did a great job. I don`t and will never understand why Prince doesn`t release them himself. Love to see if Oakland shows pop up.

so quality isn't too bad? i got pearl jam,korn and other boots and some of them are terrible. maybe i'll actually check these out. i got a few connections

i only found 2 and i'm kind of surprised by the quality of them. i probably wouldn't want to see them on the big screen tv but on my laptop they look great. i have to agree that the shows seem a little bit tired. i think "Welcome 2 America" the song is really cool. kind of a throwback to the 70s and slightly reminiscent of "The Exodus Has Begun." now had he built the show and setlist around the themes in this song, i think it could have been a cool and interesting One Nite Alone kind of tour. but after W2A, the setlist get's kind of predictable and at times, cheesy. it's like Musicology-lite, with the same moves and hair and everything. i was just waiting for him to bust out one of those asymetrical suit coats and silk handkercheifs, while Candy struts her beefy camel toe around in that prom dress/leotard combo.

I think these DVD's would benefit from a HQ audio overdub, like what was done with the European ''youtube'' video's.....

It's funny that people are calling the shows and the song choices predictable but then still hunted down a bootleg DVD to watch 'the predictable show'. It couldn't have been any different than the setlist posted the day of the concert.
