madhouseman said: ahhh, the promise of a new Prince album. I hear this one is going back to his Dirty Mind roots... or it is the best he's done since SOTT. I've also heard that this is that rock album that we've all wanted. Oh wait, this is that pure funk album that he has the potential to create. I've heard there are a few tracks from the 80s with The Revolution on it. I've heard it is a double album that flows. The rumor is that it has a story to it, but it doesn't overpower the album like some of his others with stories. This has a ballad that is as good as Gold or Purple Rain from what I understand. He supposedly is using the Linn drum again from the word on the street. The title track is going to blow you away is what I've heard. Michael B. is supposedly on 2 tracks and he brings it! The cover of this is so different from other CDs. Prince really connects with this material and he lets out his emotions in several of the tracks... or so I've heard. I know this one is going to sell (unlike his albums for the last few years). He is supposedly doing an interview with MTV and ROLLING STONE to promote this album. What other rumors have you heard or made up? The bottom line is that Prince will eventually come out with an album that will excite some, disappoint others and eventually he will walk away from it before it has been properly promoted because he has ADD when it comes to follow through in recent years. If he didn't follow through on his plans for EMANCIPATION (3 year plan with many single releases and a long non-stop tour, etc.) which was supposedly the album 'he was born to make'... what makes you think that this one is going to be different? Remember, he has been 'free' almost as long as he was at WB... hows that track record coming along? Looking forward to a greatest hits album... oh wait, it is a greatest hits EP. He didn't follow through with emancipation because his son died. I wonder how differently that and his whole post wb career would have gone commercially has his son been born healthy. |

Exactly!. His son Gregory would have been almost 15 years old about now. I think of the talent that young man would have inherited by now. Things just don't go as planned, very heartbreaking the way Prince & Mayte lost there only child like that .
Prince put so much effort in the Emancipation CD. I'm sure its a bad memory 4 him now. Since he never per4rms any music anymore 4rm it.
Poor Prince he has had so much personal tragedy in his life. Stlll his mean so called fans tear him down any chance they get, with every new album he makes of masterpieces.. will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. |

I thought The Slaughter House and The Chocolate Invasion came out around 2000-2001.

True! thanx 4 pointing that out 4got about that one. But three CD's of 36
songs & only 1 played live in all these years. Especially with disk 2 which was my favorite. The most romantic tribute of love songs 2 Mayte ever heard.... Actually Emancipation has 36 songs. I also wish he would play much more from this album! |
