Prince and veganism

As a vegan, I'm interested in Prince's veganism. What has he said about this publicly? When did he become a vegan? Does anyone know? I know that he has made a public statement about wool production. But what about the leather he wears?

This topic has been discussed ad nauseum - and very recently. Did you try doing a search?

I *did* try doing a search, and it was unsuccessful. In any event, since people are constantly joining and leaving this group, I don't see why it should be a source of contention if someone raises a topic that has been previously discussed (even recently).

One thing I have noticed about your contributions to this org in the short time I have been here is that you have nothing but rude and dismissive comments to make about other orgers.

Yep, that's his modus operandi. You learn to ignore it.

Anyway - welcome fellow vegan. biggrin

Prince did a very revealing interview in the mid 90's about his veganism and I believe he still holds true to it in many ways. He may have the odd lapse, but overall I do believe he tries not to eat any animal by-products.

As recently as mid-2010, it was reported that when Ebony Magazine's crew showed up to Paisley Park for a 12-hour shoot, when Prince was on the cover - all the food they were served was vegan.

Clearly, you didn't. I just went to the upper right corner of this page, typed in "prince vegan," hit search, and was immediately presented with no fewer than a dozen previous threads on the same topic.

I'm afraid you are wrong. I typed in "Prince and vegan" and was told that either there was nothing to be found or there was too much. I then typed "prince and veganism" and was told the same thing. Nevertheless, as I said in my previous reply to you, since people are always coming and going on here, it shouldn't be a source of anguish if someone asks something that has (even recently) been asked. Maybe someone new just joined who has something to add to the discussion that a self-professed expert on Prince like yourself doesn't know.

Nice to meet you too! Thanks for this information. Can you tell me where that interview was published? What do you think of his use of leather?

Search tip: Never include words like "and," "or" or "the." That's the problem with your search.

Don't get pissy with me because you suck at the internet.

Thanks for the link. I skimmed the linked threads and their comments. Unfortunately, they didn't contain very much about Prince and veganism.

Correct. But then the main problem is that being harsh is my modus operandi... (just because I don't lick Prince's (or anybody's) arse as some do... rolleyes).

Well, and the OP's rationale for the convenience of flogging dead horses is... no comment.

Thanks so much for directing us to this! It was a great read. I was very happy to read that he loves soya milk because I do too!
