Do you think Prince is punk? I've heard this on a couple of threads before and have never thought he was punk, just really "different". What do you guys think? ~KiKi | |

From what I know about "punk" I'd say Prince was closest to it during 1980-1982.

Yeah, I don't think Prince has made very many straight up 'genre' songs. Most of his songs are hybrids. But punk was a big part of the mix in his early days. | |

a Great Hybrid Artist because Prince is better overall IMHO with that Concept&it doesn't limit Him from working within what he already laid down.that type of vibe keeps His Music Fresh IMHO. mistermaxxx | |

You're damn right hes punk. Even more so these days! He's independent, releases music when he wants, performs when he likes. Deals with the big boys whenever he fancies. Prince doesn't have to answer to anyone..that's punk. | |
