Cloud Guitar Case?
Hey guys, this is directed at those of you who own Cloud guitars - custom or Schecter/NPG. What hardshell case, other than that produced by Schecter, fits the guitar? I went to Guitar Center today and none of the cases fit. I even tried a bass case! I saw the "coffin" cases online and though I'm not crazy about the design, I'll have to settle for one if it will fit/protect the guitar.

Great question.....I've been looking for one myself for a long time. I've never seen a case specifically made for the cloud but I would think you could get a basic rectangle type universalcase where you could adjust the foam to the shape of the cloud. Below is a link to a case made by Schecter of all people (how cool is that?) who makes a universal hard shell case. it doesn't show the interior but I would assume the cloud would fit and I'm not quite ready to put it in a coffin either...LOL! Now you would think that they would have the dimensions in the description but they don't! The Scetcher Cloud in just under 38" but if you have a custom the size mat be a little different. I'll keep trying to find out more.

I'll put all the info I find about these cases and put it on http://cloudguitarcentral.blogspot.com/

Hey thanks! All I got was a series of "oohs and ahs" from the Guitar Center boys but no real help. They did say they would try to call Schecter for me in the hopes of having them create another Cloud case, but that sounds expensive! I saw this case online, but I dismissed it because it didn't have more photos or dimensions...I'll see if I can find some more info as well!

No prob....I have a feeling that alot of people would love to find a case that fits the cloud. I sent Schecter an e-mail and I'll let you know if they come back with some good info. I'm hoping that the cases won't be to expensive as well. It's such a unique shape and that why i'm thinking it might just be better to go with a unmolded case with foam cubes and then just cut it out to fit the cloud.
Something like this...

Hmmm there's a viable option. Considering how hard to find the original Cloud cases are, I should consider myself lucky to own one. See photos below. I've been looking all over the Internet for a second one without any luck. I purchased this one from Ebay with the White Cloud about five years ago. I put both in the case to see if the second one would fit. I noticed that the headstock on the custom is a little bit longer than my White one (see photos). I don't want to come off as greedy, but with my two rambunctious dogs, I'm really nervous about keeping this guitar on display. I NEED a case!!!

Yeah the Ergo is a little tight at the top there! LOL My dogs are very rowdy. I was playing the Ergo when my male ran in and in route to the bed, he banged into the top of the guitar! Luckily it's okay but I definitely need a case. I'm in Chicago, and I did find a place that makes custom cases for touring artists. I'm going to see if they can make me something that won't break the bank too much! I'll get a quote and let you know what happens!

LOL Too funny! I have a TE Prinz Hohner and of course The Artist Hohner. My White Cloud is sick these days though. I have to take it to be serviced as there seems to be something wrong with the electronics in it. The Ergo is AMAZING!!! I have 8 guitars and the look, sound and ease of play are just otherworldly, the best - my Purple PRS is also amazing.
What changes if any, would your iteration of the Ergo have? I'd like to see it if you do get one. That would be cool!

How much did the TE Prinz cost you, and how much did you pay for the Artist Hohner, and which one do you prefer, and why? I´m not a guitar player, so any info that can be understood by a layman is very much appreciated.

Sorry to hear about your white cloud....i hope it can be repaired! I decided not to have the sunburst look on the new Ergo, I like the natural wood look of it and there is a cream binding that goes around it! It looks really sharp and it will have black hardware except for the pick-ups, they are cream as well.....other than that it is similar to yours.

I misspoke, I have the Artist Elite (Czech custom version) which I believe cost me $1049 or something in that vicinity. The TE Prinz Hohner cost me $2K on Ebay. Actually, I don't play the AE as much as I do the TE Prinz. Since it's older and the wood has gotten a chance to age, I prefer the tone on the TE Prinz. It's warmer and the guitar is more broken in. I like the Artist as a funky guitar, but it's a little bright sounding for me. I think in time, once the wood ages a bit more and I break it in by playing it more, it should be just fine.
