Is it about Cynthia being a teacher?And teaching kids(the mis-matching sox and all...)

its about a girl named cynthia who has a mental disability, and the other kids are really curious about her since she's different from them

the girl Cynthia is based on a story told to Prince by Susannah. Cynthia was a girl with special needs.

I love this song. So playful and upbeat. Loved when he performed it on the Muppet Show.

My 5 year old daughter has been obsessed with this song 4 the past few weeks since ever since I showed her that episode. Not long after, we were sitting in the car waiting 4 a tow truck 2 come and help fix my flat tire, and the whole 2 hours we were in the car, she kept hitting the repeat button on this song. As much as I love it, it started 2 work my nerves after the first 45 mins lol.

at first listen to the album, back in 1987, this song Starfish & Coffee was my fave of them all.

Ps. I love the way Prince re-worked Starfish & Coffee for this performance on Muppets.

The extra "bridge" or whatever it is called (I'm no musician), is excellent.

Do you think they gave the mini prince to Prince? This song always cheers me up.
