Used CD Store finds

I like to explore used stores for rare Prince items. Every once in a while, I will find something good. Yesterday I found a whole bunch of great stuff across the day:

Black Album

Erotic City CD Single

N.E.W.S

1999 with no DMSR (again, not sure how rare this one is)

and

Sheila E. (Self Titled)

I was blown away!

What are some of your recent finds?

T.C. Ellis for $.50; Pandemonium for $1

One time my library had Jill Jones and I was so tempted to keep it.

Our local used cd stores have turned into wank fests for Pink Floyd and Hawkwind fans, which is fine.

We have a branch of Fopp Records, who are owned by HMV, and they have really low prices for a lot of Prince cd's.

In the past there has been Lotus 3 disc for £4, The Hits/B-Sides for £3, N.E.W.S for £3 and on and on.

I miss the second hand music shops though, they used to be good over here.

Nice, I think it was the orger "blackbob" who found an original copy of "The Family" on cd in a charity shop not long ago.

Pays to have a quick look.

I saw The Gold Experience for $25. I did not buy, as I think the dude running the used wrecka stow thought he had a super rarity on his hands as it was labeled "out of print." But doesn't that summarize about 80% of P's albums? I've picked up just about all my P albums from used stores for $5.

'extra copy' lol that's what it's all about! I found a sealed 3121 CD in Tesco's for £3 a bit back which went straight into the 'storage cupboard' smile

Adorecream

Nearly all of our CD stores and wrecka stows, have given up on Prince, Real Groovy only has the "Main albums" now (Stuff like Purple Rain, Parade, Diamonds and Pearls, Musicology and 3121) all at expensive priceslike $15 -$25 used and as much as $37.95 new, for some reason they charge $46.95 for Sign o the Times and $63.99 for Hits/Bsides which really are out of touch prices. The only cheap albums I found was Emancipation for $15, Rave for $5, Newpower soul for $10 and one copy of the Rainbow Children for $44.95 as it was an "Import" the album was in fact from Australia and this is New Zealand. Other stores like Mall and main street ones only ever have the following albums 1. Greatest Hits of Prince (2001 generic one) for $21.95 as a mid priced disc

2. Purple Rain $21.95

3. Diamonds and Pearls $21.95

and more rarely 3121 = $32 -35 full price.

Fortunately I bought most of my rare Prince vinyl and CD's in the mid 90s.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Sales people at Best Buys around my house run and hide when they see me enter the store because I'm the biggest molestor when it comes to Prince and MJ. I've eased up on MJ lately though, I've bought every single item that was ever up for sale ... But prince is another story. The only thing that's always in stock are the Rainbow Children and Purple Rain - that's it!

I had to buy that for $16 new at a record store (which just recently went out of business...they had a few copies....not sure if they sold those before markdowns or not...should've went there more often).

I NEVER find rareties in the CD section. Sucks.
