I like the song, but the guitar arrangements remind me too much of BAMBI...just like staccato keyboards of VICKI WAITING sound too much like WHEN DOVES CRY.

'Electric Chair' is my second most played so far this year ('I Love U In Me' takes the cake batting eyes) and I seriously cannot get enough of it - it's definitely up there in my all time Prince faves. The track is too funky and makes me feel so great nod

There's a reason why there's a lyric from 'Electric Chair' in my signature. So much truth! woot!

A great song, one of the best off Batman. Its funky, funny lyrics and has the trade mark screams and is a precursor of his 90s material, definitely a transistion for him. Shame he didn't release it as the third single, Batdance was an awesome choice for 89 the danciest year yet, Partyman was alright but he ruined the momentum with releasing the dreadful Arms of Orion and Scandalous was okay but very self indulgent as a single (Great cover for it though).

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Hey guys!

I was just listnening to Prince's song "Electric Song", and I can't stop listening its soooo GOOD!! I had heard it before once or twice but never felt anything until now, like they say better now than never hehe. I love that whole part when he's screaming. Do anyone of you know who this song is about, I read somewhere long time ago that it was about him being gulity for taking cocaine, but I'm sure that's not the truth. So do anyone of you know? And also do Prince ever perform this song live? I've been to two concerts and he haven't sung it then and I haven't also seen this song being performed in the concert tapes, so do you know?

Take care all you Prince fans! biggrin

Is it just the scream you like in the song?...or anything else about it?

I...usually skip this one on the Batman album...lyrics mundane, synths over the top...good that people like it though.

The 12" is one of my Top Five Prince tracks.

To each their own.

I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

ELECTRIC CHAIR fusing rock and a strong funk groove just grabbed me from a first airing. - apart from a wicked line in the chorus this has always been a hidden away fave of mine. Just so rocky fused with a strong funk groove it's one of his finest from that period.

great tune, slick as hell. Makes good on that Bambi promise.

I went through a week of nonstop play with this one.
