Sometimes snow in April can be a good thing. If you are a skier and it snows in S. Lake Tahoe, Nevada, Colorado or California, you'd tend to be happy.
When you're a kid growing up in the snow, one last snow of the season can be a welcome suprise and opportunity to make icy snowballs.
And, Snow in April may simply be a metaphor for life interrupted.

It does -that sums it up. I find it strange when people query lyrics on here. I've always taken it that way too. Its not something you can always say is gonna happen but it does so be aware and maybe dont take things for granted. Prince as the narrator is taken solace that this does happen so does not sink in to grief but can instead reflect

Although this is true to a point however, the song is realting to death or dying early in your life.
"Sometimes I wish that life was never ending
All this being said, this is why people query lyrics on here, cause people don't get it right all the time.
Aaaah, I give up. Okay, the song is about not making it to the liquor store before they close. ..."holding someone is truly believing"

To those that do not think it snows in April often you need to move yo ass to Minneapolis. I have lived here my whole life and it does that often. In fact you could say "Sometimes it Snows in July" (which does not happen very often but it at least happened one time which is a recorded weather fact in the early 1990's)

NouveauDance said: You guys know where the title comes from right? It's from spring lambs that die early if it's a very long winter - I mean, Prince didn't come up with that - I thought it was a given that it's on the soundtrack because this is about CT's death in the context of the movie.
Also, I don't think I've seen it before, but Jesus was the 'lamb of God', so it could just be another God-squad song with the name changed to suit the film. I completely agree with both your posts, but as they're of a different opinion to the OP, I guess I must be a troll too. I will add that "The Life" by Wendy & Lisa works as a sister song to SISIA, you can even transplant the instrumental intro onto the track blah blah blah

It just means shit happens, that's just the way things are and so stones it unexpected. But for the record it does sometimes snow in April here so it might just be a comment on the weather
