That's a cut in paste from the site that was discussing the album. Those aren't my words.

But again everyone hears things differently.

I'll get the site I got that from and you can tell them your opinion... cool?

A bit off topic, but this is a good Prince tour reference too, it includes a section on one off shows too.

My first Prince show was ONA in New Orleans. It was amazing. I will never ever forget that show. The first time I really listened to TRC was on the drive to NO. Initially I had dismissed it. When I really listened though it became my second favorite albrum of his. Fantastic!

Honestly -- and this is coming as a surprise to myself too -- no. I really don't see much of a difference between him playing the same set every night on that tour and playing the same set every night on this tour. And if he's going to play the same set every night on a tour, I'd prefer it to be a set of songs that I enjoy. I didn't see the ONA tour, but I did go to the 2002 Xenophobia Celebration. And even having not seen it on the road, the 2 nights that he did the ONA show were the two least interesting nights to me.

That said, if he were to balance newer and more obscure material in his current show (not even a 50/50 split, 75% hits / 25% new or obscure or 60%/40%), I'd be much more excited to go see him.

havent actually watched any bootlegs from this tour, might have to have a look round lol. the xenophobia celebration is top notch, when you think aboyt it really is one of the best things he ever did.

The Xenophobia collection is a great set indeed, even though that the Celebration was not officially part of the ONA tour.

Some fantastic perfomances on that set, the setlists are fantastic, the acoustic set, Sheila's set, all great stuff, it must have been really something to be there.

God where do lot find this stuff-boooooo not fair

One Nite Alone

In a pale blue spotlight
A figure spins around and the voice calls out 2 U:
"Baby, do U like the sound?"
The undulating acrobat ready 2 do your bidding says:
"Come, U must let me dress U
But first, I must do a fitting"
Do U like it fast?
Do U like it slow?
I know it's better if we make it up as we go
And oh, by the way, tell me now, what's your name?
I'll let it sweeten my tongue just once
And never speak it again
Since this is our little secret
Just once and never speak it again
This is our little secret

Untarnished memory in a pale blue spotlight
Oh, let me hear U scream
If U're ready 4 one nite alone...
With me

I love most of the ONA soundchecks, I have always been a soundcheck and rehearsal freak.

However, would you not prefer a full length unedited live show on dvd?

I think that a soundcheck dvd might be a bit dull for most people.

I witnessed Ålborg, and the 2: Copenhagen main and aftershow 2002.

The aftershow at Vega was great,

But..... you guy are gonna hate me now, not my fave tour.

Too laid back jazzy stuff was played. And I really dislike jazz-zzz-z-z-z. zzz

And I don't like the official ONA... Live boxset either, actually, a part from Strange Relationship and The Everlasting Now + Joy In Repetition, I actually hate it.

Ålborg main ------------------- 3/6

Copenhagen main ------------ 4/6

Copenhagen aftershow--------5/6

ONA... Live boxset 2/10

umm.... why does your rating scale jump from 3 out of 6, 4 out of 6, 5 out of 6 to 2 out of 10? confuse

^haha Errant.. Yeah that may sound strange, the answer is:

the "x out of 6" is the scale the media, papers and sites ect. in Denmark are using, when they rate concerts, movies etc.

the "x out of 10" is often used here, I have used this to rank Prince's albums earlier here.

On my Prince albums Top 38 list:

the ONA... Live boxset comes in at #36, only Kamasutra and Indigo Nights are worse on my list.

I know ONA is very dear to most of you, I just don't agree. Too jazzy as I wrote earlier.
