I'm not so sure anyone knew of Prince being at the NAACP awards until after he showed up. So what's peculiar is how he just so happen to end up with the category where the winner is the ex of the ex that his ex is marrying? confuse

I totally agree. It's weird.

Come on muskiediver! Even Madiba Nelson would laugh at that! biggrin It's about thinking outside the box.

Did I say Charlie Sheen didn't have issues or that rich people can't?

I understand why some people want to find out from Mani about their relationship but I don't necessarily agree with it. Compared to many celebrities Prince has a clean record and Mani, if she had been mature enough at the time (and Prince, wiser in decision making) she would have realised, that a rebound relationship, particularly after all that was going down with Mayte and Warner, at the time, was not really a good idea.

After all these years, and being in love and engaged to be married , I still find it surprising that she would want to take a dig. Then? Sure, but now? Suspect. What are the motivating factors?

As for the thread view. People view it because they are by nature attracted to sensation and Prince having mental issues would be quite a sensation don't you think?

And that Prince has displayed bizarre behaviour at times? Well who hasn't? Does that make his bizaare behaviour more important or worse than someone elses, just because he's famous and people report on it? I don't think so.

I Do remember reading a interview in which Prince mentions having had agoraphobia. I believe that falls under mental health.

A serious question. Regarding what Manuela posted on her Facebook, about hoping to never see him on 20/20 ranting like Charlie Sheen, plus other things people have said over the years regarding things he's said and done that seem a little "off" I have to wonder if he could legitmately have mental health issues. Also, you know, the true genius's sometimes are crazy and he is a genuis musically, what do you guys think?

No, I am quite serious. What mental health issues do you possibly or probably suffer from? Before you psychoanalyze someone else...why don't you reveal your own mental issues. neutral

Well, I have absolutely no problem saying that I had a tad bit of OCD as a child so I suppose that falls under the category of mental illness, I went through a period of panic attacks as a teenager, so I'm sure that's something- like someone else on here said, half of all people do fall under the category of having a mental illness, so I have no problem with it- What are yours? smile

Ah, but there's the crux of the issue. You want to know about the mental health issues of Prince on a public website. It is very good that you want to reveal your own...but if you have your own issues, then why are you so concerned about his? That doesn't make any sense. You should look to solving your own issues and not wondering about those of someone you will never meet. As far as my vagaries are concerned...I never discuss those in public, nor do I care about Prince's or anyone else's idiosycracies... lol

Very true! But, uh , this is the PRINCE org! And there are all sorts of silly musings about him and his associates on here and wondering if the man may be a little "off" at times , you know just by judging at how many people have looked at this thread and contributed to it, is a question that many have wondered at times and when his ex wife who knows him best, writes something like that on her FB, well, I have to ask..... and while you seem very uppity and so so smart, my goodness, using words like vagries and idiosyncracies (I added the 'N" for you) , well you must have wondered as well or you wouldn't have checked out this thread- Or maybe me posting the question sparked your interest, either way, it's all good. And I don't take myself too seriously so I'm not losing sleep that some people are losing their marbles that I would even ask such a question. Please. You know you've all wondered at one time or another. Some things on here are worse, I'm not saying the man dresses like a Golden Girl for God's sakes!

As a HUGE fan of Prince, and as someone who has many friends that are musicians, the answer is clear and easy.

Yes.

Of course he has mental issues. Anyone who seeks fame and attention at that level is crazy by normal standards. Most people would be terrified of being on stage in front of tens of thousands at a time, or of the scrutiny of being in the public eye.

The "mental health issues" that Prince has are actually why we all like him. He's got something to prove and thankfully we've all been able to witness some of it.

Anyone who knows they're "special" is crazy until they can prove it.

We have many people suffering from this in the org artist community. Think I'm wrong? Take a look and listen. No disrespect on them though. They think they're special and just haven't proven they're right yet. There's a nice mix actually, there are a few talented ones and a boatload of deluded ones too. They all happen to share the same mindset though. They know they're "special" as in they have something that most people don't: the desire to receive attention and recognition for their talents/looks/writing/whatever.

Somewhere there are a few people that have skills that may match what Prince can do, but they're drunk in the street or locked up and medicated. There's a fine line between celebrity and insanity.

^^^ You stated all the issues regarding anything remotely serious about this thread very succinctly and after your post it should be locked and chained. Especially since I was accused of leaving a letter out of the word "idiosyncracies..." Everyone who looks at or posts on these threads are full of "idiosyncracies!" lol

Prince is weird, strange, etc. But I don't believe he has any legit mental health issues. As for Charlie Sheen that was mentioned in the beginning - he's on the biggest coke binge of his life. And that coke has to be some raw good shit from Bolivia.

Very interesting article that should shed some light on this...topic, for those who take the time to read and absorb.

Thanks for posting this - very interesting read.

Absolutely I believe that creative people are largely misunderstood, primarily because those that haven't developed that side of themselves are consistently (though usually inadvertently) trying to squish them into boxes that were never designed to contain them, thus resulting in contradictions about introversion/extroversion all the way up to questions as to one's mental health and/or stability.
