Prince's guitar solo on Cool by the Time is great I was just listening to first album buy theTime. Prince's guitar solo after the 5th minute into Cool is great full of fancy licks,Prince was great guitar player at the age 22 also solo in Get it up is great but Cool is something special. | |

To be honest I have never been a big fan of the Time. I know Prince wrote the songs but well it seems like weaker material than what he was releasing at the time. Since he has been doing Cool I dug out my Time cds and actually like them better. I already liked Get It Up and Cool. The other songs still are not my favorite but they are more tolerable. One cd I dont have is Pandemonium. Does anyone on this site know if it is good? I remember the single Jerk Out. I liked that song a lot. Also how about Morris Days solo stuff. | |

I've actually been listening to the 1st 2 Time joints recently. Yes P's guitar work on the 1st Time record is slamming.
From the notes and scales being ran in the song, I think it is P playing lead on "777". It sounds so similar to the solos on the 1st Time record and the early P records. | |
