Maybe when you did a full 2+ hour show without out huge sections of 'guests' covering some of your older songs? AND the fact that you still play mostly thge old hits?

These two quotes go together, he seems to be talking about his playing not lyrical content.
Maybe he is more proficient on his instruments than he was early in his career - practice makes perfect after all. Unfortately, if Prince thinks proficiency makes for better pop music, he's sadly mistaken. | |
