Well, I always SAY Erotic City, but it grows old on you, the same way Housequake grew old after listening to it 30 times a day... Erotic City just blows my mind, but I can get tired of it after 30 listens... so yeah, Love Or Money could be my second choice.

Erotic City was funky but it just came out too close to Laid Back's "White Horse" Hearing Prince bite someone else always took away from that song for me.

Now, see, I didn't hear the similarities so much. There was SOME similarities, but the speeded up guitars, reverse snare hit, THAT was what sold me on that song - THAT, and hearing my girlfriend sing "everytime I comb my hair, thoughts of you get in my eyes" - THAT was what woke me up to the brilliance of that song.

You just said "White Horse"??? I love that track, I can't get enough of it! I only know it for about half a year and still spin it almost every day. I thought it was some kind of a "Erotic City" ripoff, but you're saying it's actually the otherway around?

Don't get it twisted, EC is a much superior song than is WH. But EC is build on the groove of WH without a doubt. And that is something I wasn't used to from P at the time. I was used to people building shit on his grooves.

She's Always In My Hair, with 17 Days a very close second and the long stroke of Erotic City a third.

Yep. That was back when I was doing a lot of dee jaying so the White Horse 12" came to me in the record pool I was in. EC came out like 3-5 months later.

Probably Shockadelica first, She's Always in my Hair second, and in third, Feel U Up (long stroke).

Rock n roll is alive gets honorable mention.

I can remember a time when I didn't like She's Always in my Hair at all. Silly me.

Too many, I don't like these questions, it would probably have to be 'Girl' or 'She's always in my hair'...

Oh gawd, almost all of them are great! He has released a lot of crappy singles, and a ton of really wonderful bsides. Erotic City, of course. Also love 17 Days very, very much. . .that was a bside, right? And I Love U In Me.

Like Shalamars Dancin in the Sheets? Sounds dead on 1999. I hate that song. I was only one when shalamar song came out, but i remeber hearing when I was about 8 or 9, and thinking how much they bit.
