what do you think is/would be the best song for prince to open his shows with?

i would go withh... jam of the year or newpower generation. i liked that he used laydown (at least when i saw him, idk about the other setlists for this tour) but i also think thunder couldve been a good song to open with =p considering the thunder claps and lightning lol

and, as much as i dislike it.. i guess my name is prince could work too

Not my favorite tracks on each album by a stretch; however, they are perfect openners for the albums themselves. I think Prince is pretty good at doing this.

I liked Empty Room as an opener for the Herning Perfromance.

Controversy: Purple Rain tour, LA Forum.

Rarely played on the PR tour, I just love this version of the song. I think it's a much stronger opening to the show than Let's Go Crazy.

This may not be the best, but a memorable one was at a Glam Slam Mpls show in spring of 1994. There were curtains in front of the stage and the show opened with Come and Prince was holding his arm out between the curtains and motioning with his index finger to...Come.

Another memorable one was the 7/7/7 show at the Target Center when he opened with Purple Rain and the opening chords were being played by none other than Wendy.

Interactive, Days of Wild, and Now at the Beautiful Experience concert, although I didn't know the songs at the time.

The best though would have to be Let's Go Crazy, Purple Rain tour. People went NUTS!!!
