Time mag rates 'Purple Rain' among best soundtracks of all time. http://www.time.com/time/...48,00.html
What I found most interesting is it is one of a few of the top 25 that is basically a solo effort.
as was pointed out it is not a solo PRINCE album, but unlike most of the other soundtracks, it is one of a few that was done by one gropu as opposed to several diffrent acts.

Yay! I love Purple Recognition Yes, at 19, I finally saw the Revolution, a legendary band. And I talked to Wendy!!!  In addition to seeing Prince, I have now lived life. Thank you Purple People!! | |

I look at it as the second "Prince and The Revolution" album. The first one (I feel) is 1999. It's an "Prince and The Revolution" album. The credit was given to them for nothing. They helped made that album as well as Prince did. He may have had more control of it but, it's an "Prince and The Revolution" album. | |

Exactly!!!!And it is a solo effort. There would be no REvolution without the creator PRINCE....Hence PRINCE & the revolution  will ALWAYS think of  like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. | |
