I agree. I do believe that there are difference levels..the novice up to and including what is referred to as fams. I think it takes all types;therefore, we all qualify as fans.

Qualification for being a REAL Prince fan:

Must have sat at, at least one concert or after party waiting for Prince to show up 2 hours or more late.

Must have purchased a majority of his '90's output, just because...even though you know and agree that much of it was WTF worthy.

Must have been a member of any or all of his now defunct websites. No bonus points for Lotusflow3r.com because by then you should have known better.

Must get a small tear in your eye when you see the words Hub or Quake.

I waited for a Prince show, 2 plus hours late. He stated to the crowd that he was havin' dinner and he was running late. He then said that it didn't matter because he was going to make it up to the crowd...

If you're a musician, say...a guitar player and you have a symbol on all of your guitars, you might be considered a Prince fan...

In the spirit of Jeff Foxworthy:

- If you have named one (all) of your children Prince, Princess, or any name associated with Prince: you might be a true fan.

- If you have left work, called in sick, or lied to a loved one to get to a show: you might be a true fan.

YOu aint no real Prince fan unless you wore the complete outfit from the Dirty Mind album cover - bandana and briefs and all - to a Prince gig in January. If you did that, your Prince fanatic membership card is punched permanently.
