Hate to burst your bubble but yes Prince has done drugs.

While I don't know what his situation is now this what I heard from my younger sister. While Prince lived in Toronto when he was married to Manny a close friend of my sister was a player in the music scene here and would frequent Princes parties on Torontos mansion row which is known as the Bridal Path. When my sister asked him what it was like having conversations with Prince he responded that it was impossible to speak with him cause he was always on cocaine. You can take that how you like but there is a lot of video evidence through the years that would support my sisters freind story. Personally I don't think it's a big deal he is a rock star after all but a lot of Prince fans like to idealize him and refuse to beleive otherwise.

he has probably dabbled in drugs from time to time but prince's output and workrate and how he looks today shows he was never a heavy or prolonged user....the music and his search for 'the truth' has always been the most important things in his life....its no big deal....

Don't think he is "always" on drugs, just as i don't think he never did drugs.

Who cares anyway what somebody does in their private life.

^Agreed.

Only idiots could be interested to know whether Prince did drugs or not or could consider that an issue.

In my opinion, Prince has not done ENOUGH drugs, he should've done more.

Now I'd like to know how is it impossible to maintain a conversation with someone on coke, which is the drug which makes you friendlier and looses your tongue like no other.

But, most of all, close this!!

Quick before the thread gets locked...

I’ve heard about the coke rumours too of recent times, but IF he does I doubt he does that much or he wouldn’t be able to function the way he has and he would of put out more funkier music in the 2000s. razz

As for that video clip that was nearly 30yrs ago, I don’t think he was coked up he looked more drunk than anything.

I just love how you pointed out that only "idiots" would be interested in Prince's drug consumption and then immediately announce your own interest in the same issue eek lol

Furthermore, its not always happy-days in the world of coke, you know? Particularly for those that are overdoing it - they tend to become paranoid, agressive etc etc For someone who does the occasional line at parties and so on, it provides them with a nice buzz, energy and, as you rightly say a "loosening of the tongue" - but someone who is dependent or has a serious habit, that's a different story.

I'm in no way suggesting Prince has been a serious coke-fiend as the thread somewhat sensationally suggests (without one shred of proof) - but I'm not saying he hasn't tried it either. What is reasonably clear, is that Prince hasn't visibly suffered from any signs of excess with intoxication.

Well...can't prove Prince was on drugs, but here's a bit of "possible proof" :

1. He let Tony M anywhere near him, and of course in the band

2. He let Tony M in the band

3. He released Jughead while "lesser" songs like Moonbeam Levels, Witness, Train, Purple Music, Data Bank, Old Friends 4 Sale(original version), etc...remain rotting in the vault.

4. Tony M

5. Incredibly bad business decisions in regard to his career. Way too many to mention here, but it is almost as if somebody bet him a billion dollars to ruin his own career.

6. He let Tony M in the band.

7. $77 for a size extra small T Shirt, and then making fun of stealing $77 from fans by putting 77 tracks on 20Ten.

8. Tony M

When, where or how did I 'announce my interest' in the same issue?

I just take for granted Prince must have done some substances, but that is not my (or anybody's business). I added he should have done more because it's plain to see drugs 'have composed' many musical masterpieces. That's all.

Ditto that. I've said on here before, when I was fourteen I tried pot but never did it again and definately no drugs! I don't even take Aleve- nothing! it IS possible for someone to have never done drugs.

What do you think it's like talking to someone high as hell on cocaine? They talk a lot, and are experts on everything. They are awake, alert, and over confident. To the point where they say ridiculous things but not slurring, they are able to speak clearly.

They do not seem hazy, lazy, down, sluggish, and they still make sense.

What you have typed makes sense because no one could be wacked out on hard drugs (cocaine) and work at P’s pace. However, this is P org so do not look for common sense to factor in on this board. No one thinks P is some angel but I think this posters friend is full of crap and I would really love to see the video evidence. ( being drunk and unprepared at a JB show is not evidence of cocaine use).

That must be the reason why the Stones only made a couple of albums and only toured twice.

All this talk about how normal you can be on coke is nonsense. Any fool knows that every person has a different reaction to drugs whether it be weed or cocaine or a fifth of scotch. Cocaine can make some people very paranoid and turn them into rambling idiots.According to the story I heard it would make Prince seem wacked out of his mind. This is not a judgement on my part it just also makes sense in that Prince would have endless energy in his live performances yet could seem almost lifeless in recorded interviews.
