musicians are one thing. aside from them, who are the others that Prince continues to have done business with for 30 years? we've had almost 20 years of these stories about Prince not paying his bills. THAT speaks volumes.

If you read all the official press , interviews with the people speaking / talking about Prince that are non-musicians, they have been working with him for 20+ years ....FACT

THAT is what speakes volumes ! all the articles are post on the org anyway .....People on her just choose not to read them! lol

Yep, this is true. I think it may be a case of some people know how to effectively communicate with Prince and some people don't.

nod and I'm sorry but I would have to elevate the price a bit... so that if I did get stiffed on the completion, I would get enough up front to at least cover my cost of materials etc.

Just like banks... there is one deal (interest rate) for low risk customers and another (higher) deal for the high risk customer.

Based on reputation... Prince would fall in the latter category.

Prince is probably one of the biggest (if not biggest) selling independent artists of all time.

Though I haven't looked into Alanis Morrisset's figures before going Indie, I would imagine

Prince is comparable?

I would never in a million years do a business partnership with Prince long term.

However, if I wanted to make a few bucks, here's what I would probably agree with:

1) hand the material over so I can distribute it

2) He makes 1/2, I make 1/2

3) I'm allowed to distribute it any way I want (online, iTunes, streaming, etc.)

4) I'm allowed to promote it any way I want.

I wouldn't even bother asking Prince to promote it, because he'll do it his own

way, and it'll never be promoted.

Prince would likely not agree to the terms, so it would be a no-deal.

But I figure, it's a great way for both teams to make a quick buck.

As far as any other type of deal, in which I would have to trust Prince to follow through

with his end of the bargain, nah....I would never do that. Prince is a dickhead, so why

should anyone trust him? lol

Sure I'd do business with him. I'm a great businesswoman, so I trust myself to handle things so that we either both came out on top or split any losts. Prince is profitable, so it would be wise to work with him as long as you know what you're doing. Not to mention, it'd be quite the honor to work with someone on his level. No contracts though..cause the prefix to contracts is "con" and just who would be conning who? lol I'd just dot all my i's and cross all my t's. I'd love to work with Prince, he's intelligent and has alot of experience. Plus it might even be fun!

I really wish honesty and/or sanity was a requirement of posting.

I don't know him, but I still don't trust him as far as I can throw him. If we would ever do any business together, I'd have everything put on paper with my lawyer present. If he doesn't come through - I'd take his ass to court. And I would insist that any work we do together be released to the public. That part would also have to be on paper, because no way in Hell am I spending my time and energy on something that would spend forever in the "vault" getting dusty with all the other unreleased material.

Working with celebrities is hard in general, and especially with their people - so contracts are essential.

I've done business with Prince.

Ordered Prince-Come CD; NPG-Goldnigga CD; and MPLS CD Single. Paid with a Money Order.

They cashed the M.O., but never sent me the MPLS CD Single. no refund.

Ordered the CRYSTAL BALL CD set for $50 plus S&H. Waited 13+ months to get it in the mail... almost a month after it was available at Best Buy for $29.

Ordered NPG Come On Maxi CD single and Video Cassette of the Video for Come On that included an interview with Mel B. and a live performance (forgot its title). Waited and waited and waited. After several post cards promising new release dates that came and went, I canceled the order.

Purchased the Demo version of the Song "Guitar" from his website for $2.99. Download failed, no refund, no song, no response. Tried again, paid another $2.99 and got the song.

Purchased many tracks from the NPGMC. None of them work now due to DRM. No response.

I'm sure there are a couple of other things as well, but these are the ones that stood out.

So, NO. I would not do business with Prince. EVER. (but I'd like to.)

Did you receive the salt in the wound of getting the insulting "eye luv prince, prince luvs me" t-shirt with your Crystal Ball order? I did lol
