Sign O' the Times Movie

Just saw SOTT the concert film and loved it! One question... I'm wondering if I have the full version of this film? The reason I ask is I thought 4 sure that the song Adore was performed in this film and the version I viewed does not contain a performance of Adore.

Yes you have the right version and no, Adore was not performed. P missed out on that one. It would've been a wonderful performance.

I haven't watched it, in about 13 years but if my memory serves me correctly, Adore was not performed in it. Don't know what Prince was thinking but hey, that's Prince for you. shrug

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Awww! What a little turkey! Only Prince! I waited and waited like....ok the next song, the next song, then dang. The credits rolled! Performing LRC and not Adore. I love LRC, but it's not an SOTT song.

Love this "concert" film. I was watching It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night the other day! cool

It's a shame that he didn't perform Adore very often in those days. Was the One Nite Alone Tour the first time he performed it in full?

The real shame is that the VHS version is the highest-quality version one can obtain in this DVD "region", and a proper DVD/Blu Ray release is still MIA.

Someone, PLEASE correct me if I am wrong.

This Canadian release is the best quality SOTT release so far, no blu ray available.....yet.

Yeah, I remember waiting for both "Adore" and "Strange Relationship" to be performed and being a bit upset that they weren't.

I could have done without "Beautiful Night", "Forever In My Life, or "Beautiful Night."

I watched this the other night too - had so much fun doing so. LOVED when Sheila and Prince switched positions... and I too was waiting for Adore to start... ah well. sad

I loved the part of Forever In My Life! The improv at the end was hot. Truth be told the entire concert was pretty good I felt. Well at least I know about the Adore omission I thought I had been given an edited copy!

I'm with you. The FIML rendition was great. I recall being disappointed when "Adore" and "Strange Relationship" weren't performed but when i saw the film the next couple of times it made sense in the context of the movie. I can still see why he wanted to close with SOTT's rock anthem, "The Cross."

I think "Adore" may be the hardest song for P to match live. The best live performance I've heard of it was on the Lovesexy tour and even then it was broken up in a medley/suite.

Beautiful Night 2wice huh?!?

Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.
