Even better than the David Bowie mugshot. This must be from the time he and Dr.Fink got arrested after Fink was talked into stealing a megaphone from an airplane. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

VH-1 made...not 1 but 2 tv shows, where there were 20 women...vying for the love of Flava Flav!
Their opinion on anything...is equal to 3 minus 3...ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!!! I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

This RS in nothing but BS, please. Where is Miles Davis on this list, how could Elvis be above MJ, Hendrix is too far down the list and can Prince be further up the list than Smokey Robinson. This is a joke. Jason

It's Rolling Stone, Dear. True ACCURACY wasn't a requirement. But even THEY didn't have Prince and Michael Jackson ranked higher than James Brown as was speculated and the reason that I posted it.
Now that you're commenting again...do you mind telling us YOUR reason for posting James Brown's mugshot as the reference of the question you asked with this thread? Inquiring minds want to know.

Hatrina, go and read the Wendy and Lisa lesbian interview that's posted on another thread and leave me alone. You ask immature questions, so grow up. Jason

@Hat, If that's the lastest Rolling Stone list then I'm referring to another list....VH-1 maybe. Whatever list it was Michael Jackson was #2 for sure because there were people complaining that he was ranked so high because of his passing...
Here's the list I was referring. I wasn't sure if it was Vh-1 or Rolling Stone. Turns out it was Vh-1: 100 Alicia Keys

Honey, I will be 41 next Saturday. I'm damn good and grown!
You're the one that started this thread...with no reference whatsoever, to some Wendy and Lisa's lesbian interview thread.
So what the fuck does that have to do with you posting James Brown's mugshot and asking the question that you did on this thread?
I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Actually, making a bait thread is a violation of site rules, so thanks for reminding us all about the "report to moderator" option. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Awww, come on. Not so fast. I checked that thread with the W&L lesbian interview. Let's hold off on getting this one locked up...just yet. This could end up being LOADS of fun because...
If we only knew who we were communicating with...it would grey our hair.
Let's find out! I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

My point here is Underneath The Cream. You are correct, it isn't the quality of the mugshot that I'm getting at here. The point is, what was he arrested for and what substance abuse was he engaged in prior to the arrest. God Bless The Dead and I truly love J.B. Many artist were influenced by the good, but was P influenced by some of the bad as well? Aside from J.B's musical talents, what else influenced the youngman of the 70's named Prince Rogers Nelson. . . Jason

Jason, that arrest of JB happened much later in JB's life, but had nothing to do with his awesome talent and the influence he has been to many musicians/artists. Not sure if it was a drug arrest as well. JB was an important figure in the Black community and was called upon by elected officials in Washington when MLK Jr. was assassinated, to keep calm within the Black community. Elected officials at that time, knew there was still major racial unrest in America, between Blacks and Whites, and many Blacks were distraught when MLK Jr. was murdered. JB was popular for bringing people together through his music. If you look at that video clip I posted, where JB performed at the T.A.M.I. show it has been stated that was the first time many white teenagers had seen James Brown perform.
If we look back anywhere from the 50s/60s, many well-known artists fell victim to some form of drugs, i.e, Billy Holiday, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis Presley, etc., and that was unfortunate, but despite some of their imperfections, their musical talents remain an influence to many musicians/artists. Not sure why JB was arrested and got caught in a not-so-nice photo. But you can find the story behind that somewhere on the net. As far as Prince's music influences, some orgers named quite a few them on this thread as possible influences. [Edited 2/21/11 11:08am]

In that mugshot, JB was charged with domestic violence and damn near everybody in the music business has done drugs, at some point in their careers. Why would you think that JB's vices may have had an influence on Prince?
As a matter of public record, Prince has never been arrested for domestic violence. As for the drug matter, there's been some talk of experimentation but nothing that would assert substance abuse.
So either you're just full of shit and this was a bait thread from the get go and should be locked because Underneath The Cream it's nothing but nonsense.
OR
You think you know something the rest of us don't but if you aren't going to tell it, than what is the point? You want the focus to be on the negative aspect JB's influence may have had on Prince. Prince has been known to be major ass, at times but Underneath The Cream he's never been a woman beating junkie...has he? So why are you specualting?

I like that list,
10 Stevie Wonder
but seriously Michael Jackson being #2 is weird, only so high because he passed away - imo MJ isn't more important than Prince, James, or Jimi:
Here's my top 10:
1. The Beatles 2. Jimi Hendrix 3. Elvis Presley 4. James Brown 5. Prince 6. Michael Jackson 7. Stevie Wonder 8. Pink Floyd 9. David Bowie 10. Rolling Stones
Don't call me
Prince 4Ever. | |

And he STILL has not answered your question!! Either respect the hardest workin' man in show bidness or don't say shit about 'im, is my philosophy.

1. When a bait thread goes wrong and becomes something decent, just leave it alone and be thankful. Don't come back and attempt to start people up again.
2. People. The Prince mugshot is a fake. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |
