'Out of the lonely blue...' Which songs feature this phrase? I know it's there at the start of 'I hear your voice', but I'm sure it's featured elsewhere, but can't for the life in me think where. Is it in Get Blue? anwhere else?
Thanks blah blah blah | |

Probably just mind your mind playing tricks on you!
"I Hear Your Voice", "Get Blue", and some of those other tracks from around the same time (1989-1991) sound sorta the samey.

That is a great song. Great vocals for a demo. Another one that makes me wonder what the fuck is wrong with him these days?

They sound quite alike. Maybe he wrote all of them in a row sitting at the piano.
And I don't care if they're quite alike as long as they are good.
And I Hear Your Voice, (very especially) Get Blue, Open Book and even Hold Me sound great to me!

Me too. Love the slightly downbeat feel to them. I'm in the middle of compiling an album of these tracks for my ipod (working title - The Vault: Get Blue mixed in with the more bluesy tracks like I wonder, Uh-huh, etc from around the same 2-3 year period. So far, so good. blah blah blah

I love the bit where he buys and wears a dress
He should release it as a single with 'Never B another Fool' on the Bside.

Never read the lyrics until now, just love the tune and know the opening coz it's effective. But interesting about the dress. I take it you want vinyl if you want a flip side. Like all fancy lesbians do!!
In fact he should mix them both and he should wear his dress whilst singing that he'll "never open his legs again to a man that's insecure".
[Side note: Sandra St. Victor shouldn't have opened her songbook to a man that's insecure, as well.]

I love that song. One of my all time favorites. Wasn't it written by Prince and given to another artist to record? Any hoo...I'm glad his version is floating about because it. is. GREAT. I'm giving a shoutout to my friend Christina who shared this gem with me when we met on another website, since closed. Thanks my friend!!
