I was just looking at the Diamonds & Pearls video an hour ago. I couldn't help but wonder about the dancing ballerina girl dressed in white dancing for Prince in the Diamonds & Pearls video, is that Misty Copeland?

I'm pretty sure Misty was still a kid when that video came out.

It's not Misty, she would only have been 10 years old when this was made.

It's not Mayte either, as was often rumoured.

Misty could possibly have been one of the kids in that video, though.

I don't think Misty was even born yet... maybe that was her grandma!

Misty didn't start dancing till she was 12 or 13.

I've been following her career for years. She started ballet late and ended up staying with her ballet teacher, then there was a custody battle between the teacher and her mom - there was an episode of the now-defunct Leeza Gibbons talk show, which is where I first heard of her and she was interviewed. Eventually she was hired for the corps of ABT, then was promoted to soloist. Some years back, 20/20 did a segment on her as well.
