It's one thing to wear a pair of high heels into a club and sit for most of the night - and quite another to wear them for a performance that lasts 2+ hours. Long and short - he's wearing the flat shoes for a reason. And I'd be willing to bet that none of those who are whining, "He should wear heels! I like him better in heeeeeeeels!" are 52 years old and/or have worn (much less performed) in 4-inch heels over an extended period of time.

So there we have it, 2 different types of Prince fan, both types having little sub types within, and both types equally as mad as the other........probably.

What about those of us that love his music and appreciate how he looks - he is the complete package you can't really have one without the other !!!

As with many older-adult heel-wearers, there are certain places we'll wear heels, and other places we'll wear wedges. For a 2 hour+ show? Yeah. NOT the heels. For a dinner date and a night out on the town? Heels are fine.

Simple as that.

Y'all (heel wearers) know which is which.

It killed me, but I wore fugly shoes to Paisley Park last October. Damn good thing, too. A three-hour show - plus standing while waiting for the show and shuttle? My feet, knees and hips were killing me from standing on concrete all that time.
