i was at all 6 shows.he had matching sneakers for some of the outfits...hold up a minute and i'll post the red ones you can see better

meh. i can't find any good pics really.he had wedges too but those are flat like the red ones here. most of the great quality pics i found he has his heels on.....

but i can't see how you think they are uggs. even the low cut ankle ones don't look like that

thanks for posting your pics Mookie...my point is this...he obviously cares about his appearance. The high heeled shoes just looked bad ass. The sneakers..boots..they look so herman munsteresque...clumpy. I know. i know it's not 1984 anymore..but still..he set the bar pretty high...

I hear ya. He did set the bar high, but it is what it is. I'd rather he wear what he needs/wants to and still perform.

Why some people care what shoes he wears? He is a musician and not a supermodel walking on a catwalk modeling high hills.

First of all, we are lucky that he wore high hills on the most of his last concerts at least 1/2 of the show. His feet need a rest. And as you remember after the show he wore high hills again. His feet need a rest like everybody's feet. He is not android, he is a human.

Not even every woman would wear high hills and perform like him, but also you have to remember he will be 53 y.o. Still young, but now is time to take care of himself. He already gave too much of himself to the audience during more than 30 years, his body took too much abuse already.

Give him a break and love him for what he is best at -his music.

I LOVE Prince in his heels, but I didn't see a problem with the flats. I'm cool with whatever makes him feel good. If the heels are starting to bother him, then I don't want him to wear them. His health and comfort are much more important. He rocks whatever he wears anyway and looks sexy. So..

man all the power to him! i can barely stand up in heels! last tinme i wore heels was on a cruise and i fell in the rook. luckly on the bed and i didn't bust my ass! i tried on a style like his shoes. ouch

Yes, I have seen him move - that's what my remarks are based on.

I watched him during a 3-hour concert at Paisley Park in October 24, 2009. At the end of that evening, Prince was moving around the stage with a very pronounced limp. And he wasn't even wearing heels that night.

There is also a French TV news report that shows him touring another tour site in France. (When did he play Versailles? Last year?) In it, the camera catches him from behind as he climbs the stairs to the stage - and it is obvious that his right hip and knee aren't quite "right."

Now, it's possible that he's had surgery, that these two cases occurred during his recovery, and that he's moving better now. But if that's the case (or even if he's still trying to get by without surgery), he is likely under doctor's orders to limit his time in heels.

Because a lot of people have no interest in Prince the musician, and in fact they could not care less about his music, they see Prince purely as an object of desire, they may pretend, or even think that they like his music, but deep down all they care about is their "Princey."

On the one hand, on the other hand, there are those who have no interest in what he looks like blah blah, and whose only interest is in Prince's music, how it came to be, collecting bootlegs and finding out as much as they can on everything to do with his musical output. Some people in this group also claim they have no interest in how he looks, what underwear he has on/or not etc but in a lot of cases this is probably a lie.

So there we have it, 2 different types of Prince fan, both types having little sub types within, and both types equally as mad as the other........probably.

I care about Prince's shoes. A trademark for Prince is the high heels he's wearing.

Supercool - sexxy too, IMO.

It's one thing to wear a pair of high heels into a club and sit for most of the night - and quite another to wear them for a performance that lasts 2+ hours. Especially if (as Prince did in the old days) you're sliding across a stage, doing splits and jumping off a 6-foot-tall pile of amps in them. You can have a steel shank the shoes and the best padding in the world - and it's still going to take a toll.

Long and short - he's wearing the flat shoes for a reason. And I'd be willing to bet that none of those who are whining, "He should wear heels! I like him better in heeeeeeeels!" are 52 years old and/or have worn (much less performed) in 4-inch heels over an extended period of time.
