Exodus Lead Vocals Why is wikipedia saying that Sonny T is lead voacalist on this CD? When I can cleary hear Prince as the lead vocalist. Yeah I can hear Sonny on Count The Days & Good Life but not enough to suggest that he is the lead vocalist.

I always thought it was more-or-less Sonny singing along to Prince tracsk. Most songs it sounds like Sonny doing a bad Prince impersonation (like on Big Fun and Cherry Cherry).
To have clear Prince-vocal versions of these... one of the Holy Grails

Sonny sings lead vocal on most tracks, but some songs feature Prince "disguised" as Tora Tora.

I agree! Would love to hear the NPG versions of Acknowledge Me, Count The Days, Return of the Bump Squad with Prince on LEAD vocals. "The voter is less important than the man who provides money to the candidate," - Former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens

OOHHH the joy I would have --- a CD with Prince doing vocals on Cherry Cherry, Big Fun, Bump Squad, the rock version of Love they Will be Done, the full version of funk radio, good life, get wild -- man I'd rest my fandom in peace with that collection.

seriously? i thought it was pretty obvious to hear that sonny is singing lead on all these tracks.
there are, however, a lot of backingtracks by prince (tora tora), but they're not all too obvious on all of the songs. "return of the bumpsquad" is one where i think the entire song has basically 2 vocal tracks running at the same time. one prince, one sonny.
but you can't tell me you listen to, say, "hallucination rain" and think that's prince??
i would also love to have this album with prince on full on lead vox, but when you think of it, that would be rather insulting to sonny. at least i think prince might see it that way.
the good tracks are good enough anyway to hold up with sonny on vocals, they're just great tracks. the bad ones wouldn't improve that much with prince on vox, they'd still be just mediocre tracks.

I don't think he's a troll. Just not very bright.

because Sonny T. IS the lead vocalist with Prince's co-lead vocals mixed slightly lower in most cases?

Sonny sings lead vox on all tracks except The Exodus has Begun (which is Prince slowed down). Prince sings sort of co-lead/backing vox on all tracks and pops up to do the rap on Get Wild, etc...
The only Exodus-era tracks Prince 'sings' solo lead vox on are Exodus has begun & the Big City remix of Good Life.
If you can't hear Sonny sing on Exodus, then you might want to invest in an ear test yourself blah blah blah

Yeah I hear Sonny but I hear Prince more. Sonny's voice has been coated w/so many layers of P's vocals that u can barely hear him. Esp. on Count The Days & Good Life, sorry this really sounds like P moreso than Sonny. Just like P took over @ the end of Get It Up. Funny thing about it is alot ppl remember Get It Up as a Prince song. If it comes on the radio somebody somewhere is going to say "oh Prince". Just like Count The Days & Good Life, no one is gonna be thinkin Sonny when all they really hear is Prince. I would add A Love Bizarre but it's actually labeled as a duet (sometimes). But does anybody understand what I'm sayin or is it that you'all just don't hear it?

Nope - I can hear Prince's multi-layered backing vocals on most of the tracks, but its definitely Sonny on lead. Count the Days and Good Life have Prince virtually dueting anyway, as opposed to being strictly backing and your ear is probably more drawn to Prince's voice as it is the more familiar. But I can CLEARLY hear Sonny singing lead on all the tracks you mention. ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...
