kay, right. i know im wayy late, but i just watched graffiti bridge earlier tonight for the first time.

i ordered it last weekend thinking it was nothing special, because i know it was a total flopp and nobody really liked it . i basically just got it because... its prince. and i wanted to see him =p

but it was totally amazingg! i went into it expecting the acting to be awful or something. and i think it was just fine. ingrid's voice kinda scares me though

morris and jerome were hilariousss. i already thought the music was amazing from listening to the album, but it was even better seeing it "performed".

the only thing i think they couldve done better was to film it outside of a studio, because the bridge set (especially) looked extra fake. but thats ok because i think it got the point across.

soo how come so many people dislike it? whats so bad about it? i like it more than purple rain ^_^

I always like the message of the movie... L_L

I liked it ever since I was a kid, but then again, its not the best movie in the world. I personally think that purple rain, under the cherry moon, and grafitti bridge were all on the same level. I think maybe it was Prince's character in the movie that disappointed alot of people.. but in all honesty I read the original script for this movie and I think it would have been better had most of those things been incorporated in the movie.

There is a bridge all covered in graffiti near my house, all the junkies hang out there, it's a farking disgrace.

I absolutely love it.

I think the fake lighting and studio sets adds to the kind of dream like feel about the movie which is a nice departure from the very real, serious and gritty Purple Rain (although that was great too).

This more light hearted different approach is akin to him releasing Around The World In A Day straight after PR to maybe allieviate from the 'heaviness' of that.

Yeah the actings not as serious as PR and won't win oscars but it's not supposed to be. It's just a fun light hearted feel-good film.

Still Would Stand All Time is a stunning song. I listen to it when I need to relax from extreme stress.

It's a bad movie, because you can't just tell the story of it to someone else, because outside of a few shots of some kind of action, nothing is really happening with no logical consequences.

Try to outline the plot of Graffiti Bridge with a little description of each character and what they're story is...

Then try to do the same with Purple Rain.

He should have hired an old storytelling screenwriter (like they did with Purple Rain).

Over the years I've grown to love Grafitti Bridge mainly for my love of Prince, but also because there are movies out there alot worse than GB
