As for relationships. Well I have the luxury of having married one of god's angels. Perfection to me is having all the things that make the world tick in one package. Good and bad? Heads and tails: a coin being perfect from whichever angle I view it. Even old and battered they look right to me. Life is simple if we just change our concept of perfection.

Off topic, I'm listening to Shockadelica (the tribute album). Gunnar Andreas Berg & Erlend Smalås's take on Rockhard in a Funky Place is so good. Once I took the shit out of that album (Electronic, Indie, Industrial(?) and Country) it threw out some really good interpretations. Lots of folk that lends itself to so much of Prince's material.

wave Yep. Guilty of that.

I'll check out Shockadelica, sounds good.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

It would possibly ground him as far as his values are concerned. He always seems to me to be a little lost in the 'other world'. It would give him proper focus for his beliefs.

Don't take my statement literally. I'm don't know the man, so don't have anything valuable to say about his lifestyle.

It's not as much a Love/Hate album as many of Prince's recent albums are. Listen out for the slow, acoustic covers as they are the nice ones. And there are quite a few of them.

Trouble can happen during pregnancy for a woman at any age. Some women die, some babies are born premature, some women have blood poisoning during the birth etc.

Fertility and age are concerns for both males and females. The older a man gets, the more likely his child can be born with genetic defects and same with a woman. As men age, their sperm count and quality diminishes. Even though they continue to make new sperm, it's not the sperm of a 20 year old male because THEY are no longer 20. Women are born with all the eggs they will ever have but as long as the woman is menstruating, conception is still possible.

In this day and age with medical advancements, women can have children well into their mid 40s and after that if you've harvested your eggs before menopause. There are drugs that men can take to aid their sperm count since it declines with age. You need to read more. smile

most women do not have children into their mid 40's. [Edited 2/14/11 18:16pm]

Most women where? Not in America where I live. My grandmother had her last child at 46 and that was long before fertility drugs came out. Many women now are having babies at 40 and beyond, some with the aid of doctors and some all by themselves. If you want to be real and talk about what MOST women are doing... most women nowadays are opting to not have kids AT ALL.

damn you edited twice? falloff hmmm

fair enough. I didnt mean to offend anyone. As a guy i have no problem with dating older women. However some people who delay having children may face difficulty having them or may not be able to conceive at all.

That's true. I don't think you offended anyone you just came off sounding like it was the rule that women in their 40s weren't able to have kids which is untrue.

As far as Prince...my gut tells me he will not have biological children. Nothing to do with his age mind you since 52 is old but not too old for a man to impregnate a woman; just seems that with all the young women he has been with including his two failed marriages, if it was going to happen it would have. It would have been extremely easy in his youth and yet....he remains childless. It could be that he doesn't want kids and if that's the case, he'd be better off dating a woman his own age to ensure no accidents were to happen.

terrig

hmmmm, i'm wondering being over 35 myself....

if i had an opportunity to bounce with prince, would i?

(i'm married now, but if i weren't)

i have a pretty major career. most people are hitting a career stride at some point over 30....

i'm a personal trainer, so in my fantasy theory - i guess i'd have the possibility of an 'in', if i were to work for him....(but hello, being involved with clients isnt the way to maintain your business, so dating a client would never happen)

i can't say i'd up and leave my business and life unless, i was madly in love. so how does an older woman get a shot?

but how do you date... and find that out if you cant up and follow a rock star all over the place? i think thats why these kinds of guys end up with trust fund girls or groupies or some sort of employee...

which if you think about it never puts a relationship on secure footing really, so i'm not surprised by his choices or relationship failures at all. they're pretty much all destined to follow that pattern until he decides on a new way of being involved with someone.

princes relationships won't change until he wants them too, and MOST guys take the path of least resistance until they have no choice but to make a change. i mean prince is awesome and hot and talented and sexy, and until he thinks his situation should be different, it won't be.

he can do whatever he wants and indulge every whim, and he seems to do just that. he wont change until that no longer works for him.

i will say though that of course, he'd change everything for me - because i am just that awesome sauce of a wifey. but alas, i am already taken. biggrin heeee!

Prince talks about age not making a difference, but he's obviously talking only about himself. How many older women do you see him dating? I am an older women? I'm not even 40 yet but I sure feel I'm out of the game. I am a decent looking women and I look younger than I am, but as my daughter said, it would have been easier to meet someone when you were younger! Please, men are just scared of women that can teach them a few things.

For once I would like to see Prince with someone at least just ten years younger than him, that would at least be a start. How do you women feel about being left out of the dating game?

Prince doesn't date. He takes what he likes and get what he wants.

Is there any place of refuge one can flee from this insanity

Heeey lady!! Why do you talk like this? You're not out of the game!! Don't you know that women gets better with time? wink Let Prince chose whoever he wants to be with. Also consider that he not just looks younger than his age, his lifestyle/career most likely has made him pretty different from ordinary men the same age. You should also know that many young men are very attracted to older women. Just give it a try and you'll be surprised. I'm 40 + and are having the time of my life right now!!! biggrin So just do like Prince! Chose men that are a lot younger than you are. They will make you shine! Belive me...

Well, it's been my life's experience that's taught me that men who consistently only date much younger women, don't do so just because of the women's looks. They do so because of their inexperience, naivety and gullibility.

Meaning...younger women will usually believe and accept far more of their bullshit, than a woman old enough to know better and would call them on it, in no uncertain terms. shrug
