Gwyneth Paltrow to Sing Prince’s ‘Kiss’ on Glee

Uh oh....

Gwyneth Paltrow returns to Glee on March 8. Her character, Holly Holiday, will be subbing in for the sex-ed teacher, and while we were sort of hoping she and Mr. Schuester would be singing Enrique Iglesias's "Tonight I'm Fucking You" (cue obligatory "Tonight I'm Forgetting You" joke), instead they will be performing Prince's "Kiss." This despite the fact that Julia Roberts has already produced the definitive cover version of the song. Oh well, there's always second best. [TVline]

Does this mean Prince has finally said yes to Glee to use his music in the show?
The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

^ Seriously? You do realize it isn't him singing it...right? It's Gwyneth "Overrated" Paltrow. disbelief

I totally know who isn't singing the song. I'm just excited that not only will a Prince song be sung on one of my favorite shows but it will expose a Prince song to millions of youth who might not know who Prince is. That could open the door to someone who's 14 years old and digging Gwyneth's version to want to hear the original and if they like it that much more, they start seeking Prince's music and then BOOM! a new Prince fan is born! When you look at it from this point of view, it's a win win.

You give 14-year-olds way more credit for initiative than I. lol

well speaking for 14 y/olds, although i'm 17 now, i actually became a prince fan @ that age. i thought Sheila E. was n purple rain, and after watching the movie (& realizing that she wasn't n it lol) i just had 2 learn more about the main character and his super rediculous music. i've been listening 2 Prince ever since.

My point isn't that 14-year-olds wouldn't like Prince. My point is that, hearing Gwyneth Paltrow sing Kiss, they are ikely to assume it's her song - and not look any farther.

One thing about Gweneth Paltrow, she can at least sing... I don't think great but, I think she could carry a tune.

i would be very surprised if gwyneth or anybody on that horrid glee show could seriously hit those high notes in kiss .. seems very unlikely .. and prince .. please change ur mind .. i dont wanna hear your good songs in a car add, on american idol, or on glee ... hell im glad they are not on the radio mixed in with all the other walmart bubblegum crap they are pushing .. music should be treated with respect, not peddled out like crack flavored candy by talentless disney droids
