Are you down with Prince for life?

Are you down with Prince for life? Are you going to purchase at least 90% of what he releases in the future and still go to concerts etc? He's been a part of my life for more than half of it. Im wondering if there is going to come a time when I dont even bother or care to be a part of the Prince audience. But right now I can say, even if I become more bored and the magic still is not as bright as possible,Im down for life...good times and bad..thick n thin...the sickness. (fo-eva?fo eve-eva?)

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I'm reaching that point, rdhull. I don't listen to him as much as I used to, and it seems a long time since he's released anything that's really inspired me.

That said, I will probably go and see him when he comes over to Europe, and may well change my mind.

It looks like I'm a Prince fan for life. His music has been such a huge part of my life for over half of it. I can't imagine a time when I would never listen to Prince.

And no matter how much he pisses me off sometimes with some of the crazy shit he does, I still keep coming back for the music.

I swore I would not by 'TRC' and I went out a couple of weeks later and bought it anyway. lol

It seems that for every song I don't like, there are at least 10 more that I LOVE.

I'm a bit bored now because for me Prince is foremost a pop singer/ musician, maybe the greatest of pop history, & I'm tired of his almost cultish attitude "if you love me follow me...", I know that the system sucks but I want to hear his stuff on the radio, I want him to release "wonderfull ass" uncensored before I'm old & too fat

Pretty much. I think there might be a time when I won't get to concerts as much.

I'm down for life. I find now that I want to travel to see him perform vs. just waiting and hoping he'll tour nearby.

Prince will always be a part of my life.

It's interesting question, in younger years teenagers etc tend to rebel with the controversial music of the day, whether they'll grow up listening to same act is doubtful.

Will the youth of today be blasting Ja Rule when they're eighty or learning to appreciate jazz and classical's subtleties moreso? smile

That said, I'll always listen to P and get his new stuff. razz

So many songs, so many stories, so much emotion.
And if he stops making music one day, there will be plenty to last me a couple more lifetimes, ya know?!
Peace

Absolutely down 4 life.
If I stopped listening to Prince, everybody in my family would have a heart attack from the news.
And I love them too much to do that to them!

I'm down forever. I haven't agreed with a lot of Prince's choices in the last few years but that will never negate the impact his music had on me in my formative years. I was a teen during the 80s and his music saved my life. It gave me hope when there was none, and for that I will always remember why his music is important to me, even as a 32 year old man and beyond.
