Great Prince moments: P doing John Lee Hookers, In The Mood in Monaco in 1994. You all remember this? This was near the end of the concert he did in front of the royal family of Monaco, this was when he lip synched at the World Music Awards. It was a fun little concert, playing mostly new songs. The audience seemed to be into it. In The Mood was funny, had great guitar and there's a funny bit where Prince tells different band members that some girl in the audience is looking at them and that they should do a solo to attract one. Tommy does a slow keyboard vibe, Prince saying, "Oh, you takin that slow tip. Cool man, talk to her." He later does a solo and playfully disses Eric Clapton, then he plays a blues solo, tryin to get into Eric's ass. He does a decent solo, but I don't think he would beat Clapton with that solo; now maybe..lol
It's the only part of that concert tape I still listen to. It's funky and lots of fun. All you others say Hell Yea!!

Yes, great gig this one. Prince's version of In The Mood is actually called Glam Slam Boogie, however, i love this era, and this recording is a corker. I like the Eric Clapton part.....funny. I love Days Of Wild from this show, great stuff. Incidentally it was the previous nights show that was played at the request of Prince Albert, this show was the next night, at the same venue.
